AFter meeting hospital shut-in favours were made. The Londesborough U.C.W. meeting was held Nov. 18, in the church, opening with a prayer by President, Brenda Radford. She welcomed all 27 people present and thanked all who attended the Huron-Perth Presby- terial in Egmondville. Meditation was "Keep walking on" and a poem "Did you ever". The hymn "0 Thou Great Jehovah" with Hattie Wood at the piano. Audrey Thompson gave a reading of information on Rev. Lois Wilson the first woman moderator. Min- utes of the last meeting were read by secretary Bernice Norman. Correspondence included thanks from Kitty McGregor, George and Vietta Hoggart and family of John Bromley. The next meeting is Dec. 9 at 6:30 p.m. , a pot luck Christmas Party. Burns U.C.W. will be invited. In place of gift members are to bring something for "Sur- vival Through Friendship House" in Goderich - groceries, baby gifts, pampers, etc. They should also bring a dozen cookies for cookie exchange. Margaret Good is to order poinsettias. The mitten tree is up. The treasurer's report by Margaret Good showed a balance on hand $1,790.07. It was moved to donate $100 to Ronald McDonald, $100 to Columbia, $50 to Alma College, $50 to Town & Country Homemakers, $50 to Huronview Homebound, $25 to the Resource Centre and $25 to Menestung Church Camp. Cheerio Club gives donations The Cheerio Club meeting was held November 20 at the home of Laura Lyon. Dora Shobbrook opened the meeting reading, "Smile". Cor- respondence included a request for a donation to Huron Day Centre. It was voted $10 donation. A thank you note was received from Vietta and George Hoggart; Margaret and Russell Good and Dora Shobbrook for cards sent. Roll call was answered by 10 members. The treasurer's report showed a bal- ance of $9.85. It was moved collection should be 50 cents and a draw 25 cents. The draw donated by Mary longman was won by Edythe Beacom. The next meeting will be the Christmas meeting, Dec. 10 from 12 to 2 at the Hillcrest Restaurant, Londesborough. There will be an exchange of gifts. The program was readings by Estella, Laura and Dora and a contest by Dora "Sunny" won by Vietta Hoggart. Cards were play- ed. Lunch was served by Laura Lyon, Estella Adams and Dora Shobbrook. United Church news Greeting worshippers at Lond- esborough United Church on Sunday were Rev. Snihur and Bert Lyon. Ushers were Fred Peel, Brian Howatt, Bryan Whyte and Dennis Wilts. Rev. Snihurwelcomedall and gave call to worship and announce- ments. Next Sunday is White Gift Service. There will be no sunday school. Children and adults are asked to bring gifts for Family and Children's Services of Huron County. Londesboro personal news Sorry to report the death of Mrs. Bessie Paisley, widow of the late George McCall, age 92 at Victoria, B.C. Burial was from McCall Bro. Floral Funeral Home, Victoria, B.C. on November 22. Left to mourn her passing are a daughter Jean and her husband Joe Ben- turin of Victoria, B.C. and two grandchildren. She will be remem- bered by many here having lived here for a number of years. June Fothergill and Dennis attended a birthday party for her sister Miss Helen Marks at Listowel on Wednesday night. Friends are glad to see Jack Armstrong home from spending past two and a half weeks in Seaforth Hospital. There will be a W.I. card party this Friday, Nov. 29 at 8 p.m. All are welcome. Ross Radford of Port Colborne visited on Wednesday with his aunt, Dora Shobbrook. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Wood attended the wedding of their granddaughter Brenda Jean, daughter of Prof. and Mrs. Bill Andrews, Toronto to Shane Climie on Satuarday, Nov. 23 at noon. The wedding and reception were held at home of bride's parents. Other guests from here were her brother, Greg Andrews; Mr. and Mrs. Ken Wood, Karen, Doug and Joanne. Theirfuture home will be in San Francisco. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Shaddick spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Dirk Garlick in Kitchener. Shuffleboard winners named On Nov. 20, 17 players took part in shuffleboard. Winners were Vietta Hoggart, Hazel Reid, Betty Hulley and Jack Lee.
