Brussels 4-H club
to put float
in parade
The Brussels One Busy Bee
Bakers met at the home of Barb
Graber on November 6.
The topics of discussion includ-
ed what to do with the money
earned at the Bake Sale held on
October 26 and also if we planned
to enter a float in the Brussels
Santa Claus Parade. It was decided
to donate the money to the
Salvation Army. Huron County
Family and Children's Services
and the Brussels Lions Club pool
fund.
It was also decided that all
members would dress up and ride
in the back of a truck for the Santa
Claus parade. Our books had to be
handed in on this day also. Our
Achievement program will be held
November 27 at the Brussels.
Morris and Grey Community
Centre.
Wingham gets
new fire chief
Wingham will get a new fire
chief beginning Jan. 1.1986 when
Deputy Chief Harley Gaunt takes
over from Chief Dave Crothers.
The vote came after a report of a
special search committee of the
Wingham and Area Fire Board.
The board made the decision to
retire Mr. Crothers at the manda-
tory retirement age of 65 although
he had indicated he wanted to stay
on if the by-law was rescinded. He
had already been given a one-year
extension to allow him to supervise
the completion of Wingham's new
fire hall.
