Archie McDonald of Ottawa visited in Brussels on the weekend and
visited with Dr. and Mrs. Sandy McDonald and Carolyn of Barrie on
Sunday.
Glen Bridge of Brussels recently took part in a very unique card
championship. As Deputy District Commander of the Royal Canadian
Legion Mr. Bridge was part of the Legion section at the Canadian
Council of the Blind and the Royal Canadian Legion Ontario Command
annual cribbage and euchre held in Cambridge October 26.
Each year teams from the Legion and Canadian Council of the Blind
compete for trophies. Two person teams from the CCB play
two-person teams from the Legion. The Legion provides scorekeepers
for the event. This year the teams for the CCB came from Kingston and
Ottawa and for the Legion teams came from Toronto and Kincardine.
Mr. Bridge acted as a counter for the blind team and was featured in a
picture in the Cambridge Reporter.
