Couple married in Londesborough, live in Mitchell The marriage of Marilyn Eliza- beth Archambault, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Archam- bault. Auburn and Robert Earl Johnston, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Johnston, Londesboro, was solemnized in a double-ring cere- mony in Londesboro United Church at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Eight Huron County profession- als have just completed an inter- disciplinary training course offer- ed by the Ontario Centre for the Prevention of Child Abuse (OCPCA) in Toronto. Sheila McCaffrey, Supervisor at Huron Family and Services; Cathy Graham, team leader - sexual abuse specialist at Huron Family and Children Services; Gary Jew- itt, public school principal; Bill Croker, Psychologist, board of education; Constable John Marsh- all, Community Services Officer, Goderich OPP; Madeline Roski, public health nurse; Dr. Mario Cauchi, family physician, member of Goderich Child Abuse Review Team; Lorraine Cauchi, nurse in Goderich were the Huron County participants. The OCPCA is a non-profit charitable organization, establish- October 5,1985. Rev. Dave Snihur performed the ceremony. Miss Lisa Duizer was organist. Miss Lisa Bosman was soloist and sang three special numbers, "Because," "The Rose," and "Evergreen". Candelabra, blue and white roses, pink carnations and baby breath and ivy decorated the front of the church. The guest pews were ed by the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services in co-operation with the Canadian Children's Foundation and leading experts in the field of child abuse. Its mandate is to reduce the incidence of child abuse in Ontario. One of the Centre's major functions is the provision of interdisciplinary training courses to professionals who work in the area of child abuse. Participants in the course have included represen- tatives from child welfare agen- cies, the police, the legal commun- ity, health, education, govern- ment, women's shelters and other groups associated with local child abuse committees. Sam Moreale, Executive Direc- or of OCPCA, stated that the course is based on the philosophy that effective child abuse interven- tion requires the co-operation of a range of professionals. marked with white bows with blue forget-me-nots and baby breath. After the bride entered the church the mothers of the bridal couple each lit a candle using the candles previously lit by the mothers. The bridal gown was an original design by Tito Marissa of New York. It was a floor-length nylon sheer over taffeta with embroidery lace and seed-pearl sleeves with ruffled cuffs, fitted waistline and full skirt with a chapel train. Her veil was attached to an enchanting hat which was covered with seed pearls, embroidery on the crown and brim. She carried a cascade bouquet of red and white roses, stephanotis, baby breath, seed pearls and greenery and a little heather. Matron of honour was Mrs. Don (Brenda) Parker of Goderich, sister of the bride and bridesmaids were Jeanette John- ston, Londesboro, sister of the groom; Sharon Kember, Clinton, friend of the bride; and Cheryl Fraser, Walton, friend of the bride. Junior Bridesmaids were Lorri Archambault, niece of the bride, Barrie and Sarah Parker, Goder- ich, niece of the bride. They wore identical floor-length sleeveless-dresses of horizon blue polyester with matching jacket which featured a stand up collar. They wore white shoes. The maid of honor wore a hat of the same material. Bridesmaids wore baby breath in their hair. All carried white fans with blue and pink roses, baby breath and greenery, also all wore pearls the gift of the bride. The flower girl, a cousin of the groom was Crystal Hulley of Clinton who wore a floor-length gown of white nylon. She also had baby breath in her hair and carried a fan and wore pearls. Mike Gerrits of Clinton was his friend's best man and ushering guests were Rick Archambault, Auburn, brother of the bride; Darrel Shobbrook, Clinton, friend of the groom; and Dennis Fother- gill, Londesboro, friend of the groom. Ring bearer was Michael Archambault, Barrie, nephew of the bride. The boys all wore black tuxedos, white shirts, black cum- berbund, black ties and boutineers of blue rose and baby breath. Groom wore a white tie and boutineer of red rose and baby breath. The blue and white theme continued at the Blyth Community Centre where the reception was held. The bride's mother wore a floor-length dress of cranberry sheer over cranberry polyester with matching jacket and hat, black accessories and a corsage of cream-coloured roses, edged with cranberry. The groom's mother wore a street-length dress of turquoise polyester, black access- ories and wore a corsage of yellow roses. The bride chose as her going away outfit a grey suit with red blouse, red shoes and red hat and corsage of red roses. After a honeymoon to Niagara Falls, New York the couple will make their home in Stratford. Master of ceremonies for the evening was Doug Archambault, Barrie, brother of the bride. Guests were present from Toronto, Oshawa, Barrie, Goderich, Wing- ham, Clinton, Blyth, Stratford and Auburn. Prior to the wedding a trousseau tea was held at the home of the bride's parents.
