Ushers were Paul Jewitt, Brent Radford, Murray Whyte and Kevin Wright. The call to worship was by Gordon Shobbrook who welcomed all and gave the announcements. Junior choir practice will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the church. Flowers on the piano were on Geo. and Vietta Hoggart's 45th wedding anniversary. Children's time story was by Harriett Shillinglaw: "Love one another". Junior teacher was Margaret Medd. Offera tory re- sponse was by Garnet Wright. A hymn sing of favorite hymns and the anthem were led by Lisa Duizer, pianist and Marsha Szusz, choir director. Londesborough personals Miss Evelyn Walkom, of Kitch- ener is visiting with her sister Mr. and Mrs. Allen Shaddick. They spent the weekend in Windsor with their niece Mr. and Mrs. Don Legault. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Jervis of Clinton spent Sunday evening with Mrs. Jean Scott. The W.I. culture affairs meeting will be held November 13 when Mrs. Catherine McKnight of Clin- ton will be guest speaker on her experiences in Korea. Guests are invited from Auburn and Blyth W.I.'s. Londesboro Burn's U.C.W.Londesboro3 4-H club will be holding a bake sale prior to meeting at 7:30 p.m. 4-H club plans bake sale The final meeting of the Londes- boro 3 4H club was held at the Mayberry residence on October 28. The meeting was opened with the 4H pledge. We discussed about our exhibitwhich will be on display at our achievement Day on Novem- ber 26 at Central Huron Secondary School in Clinton. We also discuss- ed about our bake sale which will be held at the Londesboro Women's Institute meeting on November 13. We discussed about how to judge baking products. We went to the kitchenand judged pies and tea biscuits. We then worked on our exhibit for achievement day. The bake sale will begin at 7:30 p.m. Prayers of thanksgiving and scrip- ture reading "Jesus calm a storm" by Bert Lyon. Devotions were led by Margaret Whyte "not to worry" to see the many blessings around us. The Happy Gang Seniors held their meeting October 30 - 1:30 in the hall opening with 0 Canada. President Ldrne Hunking welcom- ed all. The minutes of the last meeting were read by secretary, Estella Adams. Roll call showed 25 present. The treasurer's report by Hazel Reid showed a balance of $119.74. Correspondence was re- ceived from New Horizon Grant )regarding our activities in the past year. This form is to be filled in by Hazel Reid and Beth Knox. It was moved that the November meeting be a Christmas dinner, to be catered to. An interesting display of crafts included an inlaid table and model wagons by Lorne Hunking, Clocks made by Jim McEwing, and articles made by Shuffleboard results On October 30 there were 19 payers at shuffleboard. Winn- ers were Helen Lee, Vietta Hog- gart and Betty Hulley. On Friday afternoon the Seniors were given a tour of Hullett Central school by Grade 8 pupils. Principal RonJewitt welcomed all. The choir entertained with several numbers with Barbara Bosman at piano, followed by cards with 15 tables in play. Each senior had a Grade 8 partner. Winners were: ladies high, Vietta Hoggart; lone hands, Verna Glazier; low, Dora Shob- brook; men's high, Clare Vincent; lone hands, Clarence Hanna; low, Bob Thompson. Each winner was presented with a Hullett Central school pin. A lunch of squares, cookies and Dianna Shobbrook had tonsil surgery on Friday at Stratford General Hospital. Guests at North St. United Church, Goderich on October 27 for a service of baptism for Abria Leigh Young, daughter of Kathy and John Young were: Dennis, Margaret, Michael, Ruthann, Bob, Olive and Elgin Penfound and Joy Lutz. Following the service the guests were treated to a hot buffet lunch at Kathy, John and Abria's home in Goderich. Alice Buchanan, Margaret Tay- lor and Lois Elliott attended the London area convention of the Women's Institute last Wednes- lathe by Clare Vincent. Some cards were played. Winners wete: ladies high, Audrey Thompson; lone hands, Mabel McAdam; low, Margaret Good; men's high, Mae Smith (playing as a man);-lone hands, Russell Good; low, Bob Thompson. Lunch was served by Estella Adams and Mae Smith. Lions hold Hallowe'en party A successful turn out on October 31 at the hall. Prizes were awarded to the following: pre-school, Johnathon DeWeerd, Amy Bosnian and Sus- an Salvera; kindergarten to Grade 2, Shannon Scott, Katrina McGre- gor and Amanda Kennedy; Grade 3 to Grade 6, Billy Jim Scott, Melanie Knox and Kelly Bosman; Grade land up, Timmy Airdrie, Kim Mayberry and Lisa Kennedy. drinks was served by Grade 8 pupils. Bill Millson thanked all for coming. Clare Vincent expressed thanks from the guests. 9 tables at card party There were nine tables in play on Friday night, at the Women's Institute card party. Ladies high was Mabel McAdam; lone hands, Agnes Rhoads; low, Heather Fothergill; men's high, Verna Glazier (playing as a man); lone hands, Gordon Murray; low, Lorne Hunking. Next card party will be in four weeks, November 29. In charge were Isabel Colson and Elma Jewitt. day and Thursday at Nilestorm. Bill Brady was special speaker. Visiting on Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Jim McEwing was his sister Mr. and Mrs. Norman Lloyd of Harriston. Eleven U.C.W. members at- tended the Huron-Perth Presby- terial Rally in Egmondville on Monday, October 28. Guest was Mrs. Lorna Kilb who showed pictures on Korea. Brian Jackson of Guelph and friend Barbara Konecny of Kitch- ener spend the weekend with his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Torn Allen. Visiting on the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. John Pollard was her sister Agnes Rhoads of Stratford. Congratulations to Arie Duizer on his 80th birthday November 4 and to Bob Johnston and his 80th November 9. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Johnston will also be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on November 9. Congratulations to George and Vietta Hoggart on their 45th wedding anniversary, November 2. A family dinner was held in the hall with 39 present, and catered to by U.C.W. Their three boys John and Harvey of Hullett township and Bill of Stratford, three girls Marjorie, Mrs. Paul McMaster. of New Hamburg, Larua, Mrs. Paul Dedrick of Simcoe and Betty, Mrs. Bill Butler of Portland and 19 grandchildren were all present. After supper relatives and friends called fora social time. Barbara and Katie Paterson of London visited on Sunday with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Bob Burns. On Monday, Mrs. Irvine Keys of Glammis visited with her sister Mrs. Bob Burns.
