Compiled by Craig Roulston
There were once many villages
in Huron County dreaming of
becoming big cities. Some of the
villages in this word search are still
someday accomplishing the feat of
Steven Souch at CHSS who won his
division in the Western Ontario
meet.
there and some have disappeared.
Find them here and then look them
up on an old map. f.c
The answers will appear next
week.
Tammi Medd won the first
division of the day - midget girls.
Tammi ran an excellent race, and
led from start to finish. She
continues a tradition started by her
sister Kim, who won the same
division three years ago.
In the midget boys' division,
Steve's younger brother, Kevin,
ran an excellent race over the 3000
m. course, and placed second in
what was one of the closest finishes
of the day.
Other runners from Blyth Public
School that placed very well were:
third, Kim Medd; fourth, Darryl
Elliot; and two fifth's, Jenny Allan
and Mike Pawitch.
Each division had up to thirty-
five runners, as seven local
schools, Blyth, Hullett, Huron
Centennial, Clinton Public, Clin-
ton and District Christian, Seaforth
and Vanastra, were present.
KNOW YOUR TEACHER
by KELLY COOK
INTERVIEW BY TABATHA
MONTGOMERY
Mrs. Charter is our interview
target for this edition.
Mrs. Charter has been teaching
for 22 years. She likes Blyth and
has been teaching here for IS
years. Before she came to Blyth she
taught at Kitchener and Port
Credit. She never regrets becom-
ing a teacher and has always
wanted to be one. She thinks this
year's grade 4 class is a very nice
group but they have a lot of work to
do.
Mrs. Charter likes to read and
says that you probably won't find a
teacher that doesn't. Aside from
reading, knitting and crocheting
are her hobbies. We thank Mrs.
Charter for taking time off her busy
schedual (recess) to talk with us.

BLOCK PARENT IS FOR THE
KIDS
Students have been learning
about the ways Block Parents help
kids. A record, a film, colouring
books, film strips, cassettes and
ditto's have been used to let
students know what to do in times
of need.
Thank you to everyone who has
offered to be a Block Parent.
GRADE 8 CLASS HOLDS A
HALLOWE'EN ASSEMBLY
A busy Hallowe'en Day started
with an assembly at Blyth School.
The Grade 8 class presented songs,
plays, dances and skits to entertain
the audience. Mrs. Vincent led the
music program with such songs as
Stray Cat Strut, Thirteen Dancing
Skeletons and other Hallowe'en
songs.
The Grade 8 girls danced to the
Pink Panther. All students partici-
pated in plays entitled "The
Groom's Ghost" and "The Vam-
pire Haven". The students enjoy-
ed preparing the program.
A Hallowe'en Dance and cos-
tume parade were held in the
afternoon.
