BLYTH 523-4559 LARRY BOLGER PROP. (Formerly Bill Hull Res.) The Blyth Lions Club World Series draw produced no winner as no ticket buyer predicted the score of the final World Series game. The club held a draw which included all ticket holders of Game 7, American League. Three winn- ers split the prize money. The winners were Joan Leibold, Don Dimaline and Don Stewart. The Lions Club Hallowe'en Dance held Saturday, October 26 was well attended and a financial success. The Lions Club's Christmas dances will be held Saturday, December 14 and Saturday, Dec- ember 21. Some tickets still remain for both nights. Any groups or individuals wishing tickets or further information can contact Lion Murray Musty. The Lions Club has decided to hold a New Year's Eve Dance. Tickets are $45 per couple which includes lunch, refreshments, party favours and transportation if requested. More information can be obtained from Lion Ken Cuck- sey. All money raised by the Blyth Lions Club is used to support Lion's projects in the area or projects of Lion's Clubs International. The next meeting of the Blyth Lion's Club is Thursday, Novem- ber 14 at the Blyth Memorial Hall. District A9 Governor Ken Dewar from Mount Forest will be making his official visit to the Club. Brussels 4-H club meets The sixth meeting of the Brus- sels I club was a bake sale on October 26 at the Brussels Library. Brussels II and Ethel Ill also participated. The sale was officially declared open by Lori Appleby of the Brussels II club. The fudge and tea biscuits were popular items, as they were the first items to be grabbed up. There were cookies, cakes, pies and cupcakes. A coffee and cookie booth was also set up. The bake sale was scheduled to end at 1:00p.m., but pleasingly enough almost everything was sold and we were able to pack up by 12:00. Thinking about renovations? Replacing those cold old windows? Walton Women's Institute has come up with a new fundraising idea that's been leaving a good taste in the community. Last Wednesday the ladies held another of their business lunches at their hall with a full house. Brussels couple honoured on anniversary 25TH ANNIVERSARY Friends, neighbours and relatives joined in celebrating the 25th anniversary of John and Merle Cousins at the Brussels Community Centre on Saturday, October 19. Dancing was enjoyed to the music of D.J. Maurice Drager. At intermission, master of ceremonies, Randy Cousins of London, welcomed everyone, then introduced a mock wedding party acted by friends of John and Merle. Bride - John Sims, Groom - George Langlois, Maid of Honour - Pat Langlois, Best Man - Kay Duncan, Flower Girl, Helen Adams; Ring Bearer, Shirley Wheeler; Minister, Ray Adams; Bride's Father, Henry Devlin; Bride's Mother, Isabel Sims; Usher, Sharon Devlin. Pianist was Betty Campbell; Stage Manger, George Wheeler and Script Writer, Nelva Scott. Randy then introduced John and Merle and their family Doug, Ken and Gwen, after which John and Merle replied.
