75 childred attend Belgrave Hallowe'en party
The third annual Belgrave
Children's Hallowe'en Party was
held in the Institute Hall, October
25.
Approximately 75 children en-
joyed a fun evening of costume
A capacity crowd attended the
Variety Concert which was held
Sunday evening in Knox United
Church, Belgrave and was spon-
sored by the Board of Stewards.

visited with her mother Mrs.
Elizabeth Procter over the week-
end.
Mrs. Rober Grasby is now a
patient in the Wingham and
District Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Smithson
of Downsview visitedfor stew days
with her sister Mrs. Elizabeth
Procter.
Denise Nethery, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Alex Nethery of R.R.
4, Brussels, returned to Lambton
College, Sarnia after spending the
last two weeks on Block Week at
the Wingham Day Care Centre.
Dr. and Mrs. Raymond Nichol-
son of Morrisby spent the weekend
with their.parents Mr. and Mrs.
Garner Nicholson.

at euchre
Ten tables were in play at the
weekly euchre held in the W.I. Hall
Wednesday, October 30. Winners
were: high lady, Mrs. Ronald
Coultes; low lady, Mrs. Lewis
Stonehouse; novelty lady, Mrs.
John King; high man, George
Johnston; low man, Mrs. Reta
Merkley (playing as a man);
novelty man, Mrs. Jim Coultes
(playing as a man).
There will be euchre again this

Age 7 and under, Best costume,
Becky Van Camp, Lindsay Michie
and Cole Vincent; Funniest cos-
tume, Kendra Fischer, Travis
provided by Mrs. Elizabeth Proct-
er and Mrs. George Johnston. Rev.
John G. Roberts acted as chairman
and welcomed everyone. Selec-
tions by the Walton and Bluevale
choir, directed by Mrs. Mary Lou
Johnston were enjoyed.
Piano duets were by Mrs. Alice
Brothers and Mrs. Mary Bryans.
Solo's were performed by Don
McDonald with musical numbers
by The Stapelton Sisters. Duets
were performed by Mrs. Mildred
Travis and Mrs. Phyliss Mitchell.
A reading was given by Clifford
Coultes. There were orchestra
selections by Mrs. Freda John-
ston, piano, Harvey McDowell,
violin and Alex Robertson, banjo.
Bill and Muriel Coultes performed
a duet. Mrs. Marie McGavin sang a
solo. There was a duet by Mrs.
Linda Thomas and Mr. Murray
Hoover. Bag Pipe selections were
performed by Charles Procter.
Graeme Craig gave a guitar solo. A
quartette of Muriel Coultes, Doro-
thy Coultes, Donna Shaw and
Elizabeth Procter performed. Mrs.
Phyllis Mitchell gave a violin
selection.
Words failed to express ade-
quate appreciation to everyone
who participated in the concert
presentation. Talent of such high
calibre deserved our sincere com-
mendation.

surprised
by party
Neighbours and friends of Mr.
and Mrs. Ross Higgins of the third
line of Morris Township paid a
surprise visit to their home last
Tuesday evening, October 29 to
celebrate the couples 25th wedd-
ing anniversary.
A social time was enjoyed and
Mr. and Mrs. Higgins were
presented with a gift and a card.
A family dinner was held
Sunday, October 27 at Blyth. A
group of 40 family members and
friends and attendants who served
at the wedding 25 years ago were
present. They included: Mrs. Les
Shaw, Belgrave; Mrs. Bill Steele,
Guelph; Mrs. Jan Dauphinee,
Owen Sound; John Johnston, R.R.
2, Bluevale and Charles and
Norman Higgins of R.R. 5, Brus-
sels.
Following the dinner Mr. and
Mrs. Higgins received the guests
at their home, as well as other
friends who arrived to wish them
well. Carman Farrier, a brother-in-
law of the groom, showed pictures
of the wedding day.
The couple received many beau-
tiful gifts and cards.

Dianne Black and Travis Camp-
bell; Best Break Dancer, Jason
Campbell.
A draw was also made for a
Wuzzle which was won by Amanda
Cook.
Thanks to Mrs. Laura Johnston
and Mrs. Irene Lamont who had a
difficult taks of judging all the
excellent costumes.
