Farm
report
available
One of the most thorough
reports of the Ontario Farm
Management Analysis Porject is
now being released to help farmers
compare their management re-
cords with those of their col-
leagues.
The project, conducted for 39
consecutive years, is a joint effort
of the Ontario Ministry of Agricul-
ture and Food (OMAF) and the
University of Guelph.
"This project is a key component
of our farm management pro-
gram," said Norris Hoag, director
of the OMAF agricultural repre-
sentatives branch. "The informa-
ion in this report is an excellent tool
in helping farmers to be better
managers."
The latest report is comprehen-
sive, using management informa-
tion from 681 farms -- the largest
pool of farm records data in the
report since 1968. More farmers
have been included because of
additional data provided by the
federal Farm Credit Corporation
and the province's Red Meat Plan.
Farmers can complete an in-
come statement and balance sheet
to compare with the business
records of the average and top
one-third money-making farmers
in their particular commodity. The
purpose of this comparison is to
suggest ways of increasing profit-
ability.
Some improvements have been
made to the current report,
including a new farm and enter-
prise analysis input form to enable
farms with more than one enter-
prise to receive more meaningful
reports. A new section on opera-
tional efficiencies compares opera
ting expenses, depreciation, inter-
est and net income to the value of
farm production.
Mrs. J. Mcllwaith and daught-
ers Julia and. Karen of Puslingch

birthday.
