Majestic W.I. meets
The Majestic Women's Institute
entertained the residents at Brook
Haven in Wingham last Wednes-
day afternoon.
Doris McCall gave two readings,
on October and Hallowe'en. While
Iona Moore, Doris McCall and
Jane DeVries served the residents
fruit loaf and cheese. Phyllis
Mitchell on the violin and Freda
Pipe on the piano played some
lively old-time tunes along with a
sing a long of some of the old
familiar hymns.

NO ELECTION FOR COUNCIL IN BRUSSELS
There will be no election for council in Brussels after all.
Susan Gowing, one of five candidates nominated for the four
council positions, withdrew her nomination. That means only
Separate School Supporters will be going to the polls Nov. 12.
JOAN MAIR WILL NURSE IN SAUDI ARABIA
Mary Lou Field, Wanda Joseph and Joan Mair, visited a
couple of days last week with Jim and Evelyn Mair. Joan leaves
early in December for a nursing position at the Research Centre
in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
GETTING IN TOUCH WITH US
Sorry for the inconvenience for those of you in the Brussels
area getting in touch with us in these early weeks. The folks at
Maitland Insurance have kindly offered to act as a drop off spot
for material but in order to save them headaches we'd ask that
you send your subscription requests to The Citizen, P.O. Box
152, Brussels, Ont.
If you're dropping material off, try to have it either at
Maitland Insurance or at our Post office box by 2 p.m. on
Monday afternoons to ensure it will get in that week's paper.
We have to be at the printing plant by 2 p.m. Tuesday so we
can't be too late getting material that must be typeset. We can
accept material at our Blyth office until 4 p.m. Mondays.
FAMILY CELEBRATION
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Brewer held a Family Dinner, where
they entertained her family at The Golden Lantern Restaurant.
Those attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Russell Fox, Mrs. Harry
Bowler, Mrs. Andrea Allison and Robert, Mr. and Mrs.
Kenneth Bowler and Nancy all of London, Mrs. Vera Hastings,
Mr. and Mrs. Brian Huether, Sand and Sheri, Mr. and Mrs.
David Hastings, David, Darryl, Donald and Krista, Mrs. Mary

Mr. Harry Bowler who is a patient in Victoria Hospital at this
time was unable to attend.
CUBS TOUR HULL= MARSH
About a dozen Cubs from the Brussels pack toured the
Hullett Marsh wildlife area recently under the direction of Jack
Overholt of the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources.

Variety Fair
The regular meeting of Morning
Star Rebekah Lodge was held with
a good representation of members
present. Noble Grand Barb Watts
conducted the meeting.
Final plans were made for
Variety Fair and for the banquet to
be held in Anglican church hall,
Nov. 12. The Assembly Warden
will be visiting in the District.

Supporter of the Noble Grand
Nelva was unable to attend
installation ceremonies at the last
meeting. A donation of money is
being sent to Diabetic Association
instead of a gift to Wm. and Norma
McNair for their 50th wedding
anniversary in late Nov. according
to their wish.
Jean Bridge offered to deliver
cards or messages if anyone
wished to send them. A delicious
lunch followed the meeting, served
by the committee in charge. Past

meeting Nov. 4 at home of Jean
