number of winners at each. True,
Many of them will be eaten on

occasions.

Make one cup of stuffing for
each pound of turkey. With the
bird cut -side up, park stuffing
into body cavities. Cover stuffed
side sot turkey with a piece of
aluminum foil cut to the exact
shape of the whole turkey and
pierced in several places. Press,
a greased roasting rack firmly
against the foil. then turn over
so that skin side is up. Place in

2 cups sugar
1 cup water
1 tsp. vinegar
cup red cinnamon candies
red food coloring
3 pounds firm apples
Combine first 5 ingredients in
saucepan and heat just entuteh
to melt. sugar and candies, then
add enough coloring to give a
deep, red color.
Peel apples and cut nut halls
with a little ball cutter, some-
times called a "melon hailer."
Three founds apples will make
75 to 100 'balls. •
Heat syrup to a boil and sim-
mer 5 minutes. Add about one-
third of the balls to syrup.
Simmer until balls are barely
tender.
Vee a slotted spoon. Lift balls
from syrup and drain no wire
cake rack or absorbent paper.
Cook remaining halls. Chill and
serve with turkey.
Conk left over pieces of apple
with a little water to make a.bple-
sauce. • Sweeten with some of the
leftover syrup. This makes
about 2 cups pink applesauce to
serve with meat or for dessert,
