PIE-EATERS—A. pie -eating contest (juicy blueberry, at that) Was one of the fort contests staged by L.U.C.A.. organization at the Hallowe'en party for children Lucan Friday night. Above Ward Hodgins, Carl Neil, the winner; and Bill Darling, —T -A Photo runner-up; are gobbling up the pastry in record time. Painting, Prizes, Pastries Feature a owe en Party Lucan's L.U.C.A.N, this year donated five three and two dollar prizes for the best painted store window. As there was a poor response from high school pu- pils, at the last minute, public school pupils were permitted to participate. The judges were Mrs. Marion Davidson, Mr. Ken Clarke and Mr, J. B. Ready. The first prize ,went to the right hand window of the George Paul store a scene drawn by Randy Paul and Roger Black, the second prize to the side win - dow of the Lucan Motors, drawn by Nancy Watson, Jo -Anne Rib - son and Ann George and the third prize to the windows and door of the Culbert store drawn by Terry and Dona Culbert and Jane Steacy. At 7:00 *p.m. witches, clowns. fairies', Indians etc, began col- lecting at the hank corner. At 7:30 began the march to the community centre to the music of a victrpla. From the' side- walks and cars, adults watched the motley parade. Each child an entering the auditorium was given a card with a number to be used in the contests following the judging of costumes. 'The judges were Mrs. Wesley • Clow, Rev. Edgar Roulston and ; Mr. Ed. Morris. Three, two and one dollars were the prizes for each event. The winners were: pre-school. fancy. Jelfirey Culbert, Deborah Kennedy and Dianne Corbett; comic, Patsy Nagle, Philip Bell and Peter Culbert; Grades 1 to 4, fancy, Leslie Carling, Carla R.evington, Nancy Hardy; comic, Denise Ribson, Billy Ha'skett, Eugene Seifried. Grades 5 to 8, fancy, Edward , Loyens, Jo -Anne Ribson and gins (tied), Susan Bridges, Aduits, Anita Gignac, Harold Whyte, Antonette Van Lieshout; comic, Mrs. John Park and Rose Revington (tied) -Merton Culbert and Bill Darling.
