Ups Taxes .
McGillivray council has raised
the townshijp. tax rate four
mills this year.
Bridge work, eoutity and high
school levies and :a deficit last
. year caused by the Ilagmeier
damage suit were responsible
for. the increase.
The county levy rose one and
one-half mills, the high school
• rate one-half mill. The other
two mills were required to meet
costs on the Bice bridge at Clan-
, deboye and to help cover the
$2,000 deficit incurred in 1957.
mainly because of expenses of
the law suit.
One other factor -figuring in
the increase is the warble fly
spraying pregram, now entirely
paid out of tax funds. In former
years, owners were assessed for
a share of the spray program.
