The death of Mr. Norman
Hamilton, of Galt, a former
resident of Cromarty, occurred
last week.
He was born in Cromarty, the
youngest son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. .F. L. Hamilton, and spent
his early life here. moving to
Galt some fifty years ago. He
was engaged in the insurance
business and was a leading
I worker in the United Cherch.
; He is survived by his wife, the
;former Myrtle Townley, two sons,

of Galt, and one daugeter, Miss

After Cattle
A wild female eq11i, who has
been leading a„pack if .dogs in
attacks upon ,cattle, was killed
Saturday morning in the Saints -
bury area.
The clog, all black except for
a •patch of White enderneath, was
shot by Hugh Davis after the
pack molested cattle on .the farm
of Harry Carroll, fifth ewes-
sillAnftbotirgdfi3lePoll.' cattle had been
:killed in the area, the dogs had
bitten the tail off ane of Mr.
Carroll's beasts and had attacked
a number of herdsin the area,
including those of Mr. Davis and
Mr, -Carroll's 'father, Hugh.
Mr. Carroll said he saw the
dogs chase the fear -stricken
cattle thriugh a fence one day.
"The cattle were so frightened
they ran through the fence as if
it wasn't there."
The bitch, who .apparentbe
lived in nearby bushes, crept to
the barn of Hugh Carroll about
two and one-half months ago to
give birth to three pups, at least
one of which died, Perhaps
frightened away, she had a
fourth pep in one of Harry Car-
roll's fields.
The bitch would round up
neighboring dogs, normally dom-
esticatedand lead them in at-
• tacks on district herds.'

A medalist men's chorus, and
four prizewinning 'male quar-
tettes will be featured in the
"Barbershop Night" program
presented by Exeter Kinsmen
in the Legion Hall Friday, Nov-
ember 7.
All groups are members of
the London chapter of the So-
ciety for ahe Preservation and
Encouragement of Barbershop
Quartette Singing in America, -
known as SPEBSQSA.
The chorus, "Men of Accord,"
won medalist honors in interna-
tional competition in 1958; le is
directed by Ted Crisp.
Of the quartettes, the "Chord
Criers" were 1958-59 interna-
tional semi-finalists. They in -
elude Fete Hay, John Sutton,
Greg Backwell and Milt Tag -
The "Gay Tones," including
Bert Ellis, Ted Crisp, jim Tur-
ner, and Ron Williamson, were
Ontario district champions in
1957-58 and internation semi-fin-
alists in 1957-58.
Two other quartettes, the "Rio
Chords" and the "Four Gents,
have also won laurels in compe-
tition.
Colorful costumes and lively
singing will highlight the musical
treat.
