The group plans to attend the fall rally in Egmonciville on Tuesday, October 21. Legion Auxiliary Marks Birthday An enjoyable evening was held in the Legion Hall last Tuesday when the Hensel!. Legion Auxin-. ary celebrated their ninth birth- day. The auxiliary had as their guests, members of Exeter and Seaforth The Legion Hall was tastefully decorated in blue and gold. Miss Carol Brown and Miss Jean Henderson assisted with the progiam. Mrs. Coombs, Seaforth, gave an impersonation of Gracie Fields which was much enjoyed. Contests were enjoyed and bingo played, after which a successful penny sale was held. Winners of the draws were; Lucky door prize, Mrs. E. Shad - dick, Mrs. Meers, Exeter; lucky cup, Mrs. Watson, Seaforth; lucky chair, Mrs. Edna Corbett. AL a brief executive meeting preceding the birthday party, plans were outlined for the bazaar, bake sale, tea and draw for doll, November 29. Personal Items presiding.' Keys Dies In Clinton Mrs. Benjamin Keys, the for - liter Rachel Ann Turner, wife of the late Robert Benjamin Keys, died Sunday, October 5 in the Clinton Public Hospital. She was in her 75th year. Her Passing was sudden and was the . result of a severe stroke suffer- ed the morning of the same day at her home at Brucefield. Up to this time she had enjoyed reasonailly good health. Mrs. Keys was born on the Parr Line, Stanley Township, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Turner. In 1913 she married the late Robert Benja- min Keys and. moved to the Babylon line. In 1943 they moved to Varna; in 1947 to Brucefield, Mr. Keys died in 1955. Mrs. Keys was a member, of Brucelield United church and was active in women's organiza- tions in the church, Before mov- ing to Brucefield, she had been e member of United churches at Goshen. and Varna. Mrs. Keys is survived by: her four sons; Mervyn of Winnipeg; Harvey of Hensall; Allan of Ot- tawa, and Gordon of Camlachie, • also one brother, Harvey Turner of the Parr line. There are nine grandchildren, The remains rested at the Bon- thron funeral chapel, Hensall until the funeral which was held in Brucefield United Church on Wednesday, October 8. The service was conducted by : Bev. S. Davison with interment Bayfield cemetery. 1:4 'Pallbearers were Waiter Mc - Beth, Russell Erratt, Clifford Keys, Elgin McKinley, Fred Mc- Clyment and Glen Swan. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Schwalm and family motored to Rochester, N.Y. where they spent th,e• week- end with relatives, Mrs. Margaret Evans and family, bf Waterloo, were week. end. visitors with the former's parents, Mr, and Mrs: R. Y. MacLaren. Mrs. Edgar Munn returned home, after spending a few days with her son-in-law and daugh- ter, Mr, and Mrs. Don Gooding in Parkhill. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Sararus and family, of Toronto, visited over the holiday with the for- mer's mother, Mrs. S. Sararus. 'Mr. and Mrs. Keith Lindsay and Pamela returned to their home in Napanee after spending the weekend with Mrs. Lindsay's, parents, Mr, and Mrs. John Hen- derson. Mrs. Minnie Sangster visited over the holiday with her son-in- law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. M. MacFarlane in Forest. Mrs. Grace Knight, of Edmon- ton, Alberta, visited, friends in the village on Friday. Mrs, Knight had been attending the National Council of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union in Halifax, N.S., and on her way heme, visited relatives and friends in Ontario. She calledon Miss A. Consitt in the village, visits so far this year. He urged all members to attend the fall council meeting in Goderich, then gave the district policy for Kins- men in Zone D. • • Conduct Service For H. F. Taylor Public funeral services were held for the late Hilton F, Taylor, of Hensall, originally of Forest, from the Bonthron funeral chapel on Wednesday, conducted by Rev. Charles D. Daniel, with inter- ment in Beechwood Cemetery, Forest. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Harrington, North Dakota; two brothers, Harry, Exeter; Bill, Arlington, Virginia; two sis- ters, Mrs. )3ossenberry, Exeter; Mrs, W. Leonard, Ripley, and three grandsons. His wife pre- deceased him four years ago, In his 70th year, Mr. Taylor died in Clinton Hospital on Monday, Rebecca Rake Sale The members of Amber Re- becca Lodge held a successful bake sale and tea in the lower lodge hall Saturday afternoon.
