Apple Bavarian Pie
(Mrs. :Hilton Laing)
1 baked 9" gingersnap -crumb
crust
2 envelopes unflavored
tine
2 cups apple
4 egg yolks
a tp. salt
4 egg whites
1 cup heavy cream
1 tp. vanilla
2 cups chilled applesauce
8 red -apple slices unpared
Sprinkle gelatine over apple
juice in double boiler; let stand
5. minutes. Stirring occasionally
beat until gelatine is dissolved.
In small bowl beat egg yolks
with sugar and salt; stir in
some hot apple juice; *add to
rest of juice in double boiler;
cook till mixture forms coating
on back of spoon. Refrigerate,
