Maitland was held at Carmel
;Presbyterian Church Monday
evening, attended by ninety
Poling people and their ministers.
Following a supper ,meeting,
a t es,per service was held in the
church auditorium, when the
guest speaker, Rev, D; T. Evans,
of Ingersoll, spoke on the theme
"Freedom In Christ,"
The trophy awarded 10 the
Young People's group with the
highest merits for the year, went
to Goderich, with Rev. T. J.
McKinney, of Teeswater, making
the presentation. installation of
officers was conducted. Jim
Love and. Jim Dougall favored
with a vocal duet, with Mrs.
Malcolm Dougall, accompanist,

Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Jaques,
Monday evening. She was the

was enjoyed, after which the
bride's trousseau was displayed.

founding of Rebekah Lodges
and a poem entitled "A Lodge

The Rally Day program was
followed, with the minister, Rev, Birds Eye Green
S. Kerr, and David Scott, as
leaders. Scripture passages were
read by Margaret Ann Wallace
and Gerry Scott. The singing was
led by the junior choir.
A service of dedication for
teachers and officers of the Sun-
day School, was conducted by
Mr. Kerr, who also gave the
address, using as his subject the
theme, The Bible -- God's Word
To Us.
Quite a number of the •boys
and girls received diplomas for
regular attendance.
Hurt• in Accident
Karen Scott, twin daughter of,
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Scott, met
with a serious accident at her
hone on Monday.
During silo filling' operations,
while riding on the tractor with
ber father, she fell off under the
wheels of the empty wagon which
passed over her body, causing
severe internal injuries. •
She was rushed to St. Joseph's
Hospital, in London, where an
emergency operation was per-
formed. Her condition at pres-
ent is satisfactory,
