Mission Band Entertained
The Elimville W.M.S. and W.A.
held their August meeting in the
church when they entertained
the Elimville Mission Band.
The Mission Band put on the .
program and held a bazaar, net-
ting over $40, afterwards.

Mrs, Philip Murch returned
home after visiting two weeks
with her son and daughter-in-
law, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Murch
at Petawawa and two weeks
with her sister, Mrs. Jean Jack-
son of Toronto.
Mrs. Everett Skinner fell at
the cottage in Grand Bend last
week and cracked her knee cap..
She now has her leg in a cast
and is convalescing at Grand

Miss Ruth Ann 'King and
Wayne King of Crediton spent
last week with their grandpar-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Cooper.
Miss Jean Lammie and Bobby
Lammie of Centralia visited last
week with Mr. and Mrs. John.
Ridley.
Mrs. Edith Baker of Grand
Bend is visiting this week with
Mr. and. Mrs. Bruce Cooper.

:Joseph Bawden
Dies In Regina
.A native of Exeter, Joseph
Webber Bawden, 88 years old,
former publisher of the. North
Battleford News 1911 to 1912,
longtime News business manager,
salesman and printer, died in
Regina Hospital, Wednesday,
August 13.
Born in Exeter in 1870 he mar-
ried the former Blanche Brock
In .London in 1907. The couple
t elebrated their golden wedding
anniversary in April 1957.
Few members of the com-
/nunity have been so widely
honored during their life as Joe
Bawden. He was an honorary
member •of the North Battleford
RotaryClub, was the first Mason
in Ionic Lodge to be presented
with a 50 -year gold medal and
was a life member of the Battle -
fords Agricultural Society. A
former city alderman J. W.
Bawden was a past chairman
of the city's public school board.
He is survived by his wife,
one daughter and two sons.
The funeral service was held
in St. Paul's Anglican church
where he served as rector's war-
den and later people's warden.
Mr, Bawden visited in Exeter
three years ago.
