decorated the altar before which
Rev. Samuel Kerr performed
the ceremony. Mrs. Robert Pryde
provided wedding music and ac-

Clare Green, Exeter, who sang

over satin and net featuring a
fitted bodice, scalloped sabrina
neckline studded with sequins
and seed pearls, lily point sleeves

satin sprinkled with sequins and
edged with pearls held her ny-
lon tulle veil sprinkled with
rhinestones. She carried a bou-
quet of red roses and ivy,
The trio of attendants, Miss
Norma Harburn, Stella, cousin
of the bride as maid of honor
and Miss Carolyn Simpson, sister
of the bride. and Mrs. Beverley
Parsons, sister of the groom. as
bridesmaids were. gowned alike
in blue nylon sheer over net and
taffeta with matching hats and
shoes. They carried baskets of
blue mums and white roses.
Delion Skinner, Elim vilip, vas
groomsman and Alex Meikle and
Wilbert Coward ushered.
A reception was held in the
church parlors where the bride's
mother received guests in a
figured blue taffeta sheath with
matching duster coat and white
accessories. The groom's mother
chose frosted navy organza with
navy and white "accessories.
Serviteiuss were Mrs. H. Laing,
Mrs. A. Whilsmith, Miss Phyllis
Cann,•Miss Lois Tinney and Miss
Bernice Strang.
For travelling to Akron. Ohio
the bride changed to a figured
magic crepe chemise in brown
tones with beige accessories and
bronze Talisman rose corsage.
On their return they will Make
their home in Exeter.

A double -ring cereinony was
solemnized Saturday, August 2,
at 6 p.m. in St. Vital United
Church when Corey, youngest
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J.
Carlson of Winnipeg was united
marriage to Mr. Glen Schroe-
der, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.
Schroeder, Centralia.
Rev, J. MacDonald officiated
and Mrs. V. McBean provided

the sOloist Robert Carlson, bre-
ther of the bride.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a waltz -
length gown Of Chantilly lace
over satin with torso-letigth bo-
dice featuring lily point sleeves
and a scalloped sabrina neckline
ernbroidered with paillettes of
seed pearls and iridescent se-
quins. The bouffant skirt worn
over a Mop had a tact scalloped
everskirt. A matching halo head-
dress of tulle, sequins and seed
pearls held her finger.tip veil

Beauty roses and stephanotis,

Pryde's mother, Mrs, Woodall;

Bread and Butter Pickle
Mrs. Jack Pryde
1 'anon medium sized cucturi-
bers
8 or more small whole onions
1 sweet red pepper sliced thin
1 2 cup uniodized salt
granulatedCr5 icsugar
caicipksed
1 2 tsp. tumcrlc
1 '2 tsp. cloves ' •
2 tbsp. mustard seed
2 tsp. celery seed
5 cups vinegar
Slice thin but de not peel the
cucumbers. Add titbits onions,
salt and red peppee, Cover with
twn trays of ice .cubes. Let stand
3 hours. Drain well. Pour other
ingredients over cucumbers and
JUST bring to a boil. Bottle and
seal. MSS recipe makes approxi.

Small 1.2 cup salt
1 tbsp.. tumeric
4 cups granulated sugar
4 cups vinegar

English Trifle

1 sponge cake
jam (a red color is suggested)
1 Jan powder (using a color to
match jain)
Fresh fruits — oranges,- grape-
fruit, banana or any kind
Custard
Place 2 layers of cake cut in
fingers and spread with jam on
the bottom of a large glass bowl,
Then put in as much fruit as
you wish. Oranges and grapefritit
should be left in segments with
the membrane .removed.
Over this pour -enough jello
to almost cover the fruit. Let this
stand until firm. (This is im.
portant).
When jello is completely set
cover with a thick custard which
has been whipped. Let set.
Decorate with fresh fruit or
maraschino cherries or whipped
crean.
Alterhate Suggestions:

Fruit cocktail may be used in-
stead of fresh fruit. Strain and
save juice to be used in making
the, jello.

the book "Anna and the Indians."
She told of her journey in 1895
to the Selkirk settlement where
she married, and of her life at
Nelson House and. her work
amongst the ltidiane.
Mrs. Frank King led the *meet-
ing being assitted in the wor-
ship service by Mrs. L. Kyle and
Mrs. C. W. Down. Mrs. William
Martin read poem and Mrs.
G. Klatt sang solos accompanied
