Anyone who thinks we have
no 'stars' in Canadian TV needs
only to take a look at Juliette's

that another show is to replace

formers know well in advance if
their services will be needed?
The same thing happens every
summer and every autumn.„ Next
winter's shows are already being
announced by U.S. networks but
here the summer schedule isn't
even finalized.
Recently I asked a top, Cana-
dian performer what he would
be doing this summer. ' "Worry-
ing," he said, "as I do every
summer."
Is that necessary? Should
talented performers, producers
and writers hai,e to add this
worry to their already tense pro-
fessions? Could it be that the
yards of red tape that usually
wind around anything govern-
