Trout Meals
Local fisherman held their
own on the opening of the trout
season last Thursday as several
groups became successful with
their rod and reels in landing
speckled and lake trout dinners.
One of the longest expeditions
to take place was a four man
team who braved the cold in
travelling into the Huntsville
district for four days,
Lloyd. Smith of Osborne, Ross
Francis, Dr, Rick Roelofson and
Bill MacLean, Exeter made up
the happy party that came home
with 55 trout.
The foursome who left last
Thursday and arrived home Sun.
day came hack with only five
fish shy of the limit catch. The
largest of the 55 specimens was
about 20 inches.
Catches Made Near Lucknow
A three man excursion jour-
neyed up into the Lucknow vicin-
ity for the best part of a day
and came home with 35 measur-
ing from nine to 14 inches.
Bill Snell caught the trout
limit of 15 while Exeter's Mayor
Ted Pooley hooked 12. The third
man in the party was Bert Ost-
land who landed eight.
