There's a lot of talk circling the town about
entering a team lnto a softball league nearby or even
conneot up with the OAA Exeter certainly
has plenty of material to work with ,: } "Casey"

which undoubtedly means Kansas City. Well you can

the Butchers who copped the bowling championship

Koster Has Fun

I've noticed that Wally Koster!
usually seems to have so much:
fun at rehearsals that he makes
others forget how hard they are
really working.
Wally has "two or three irons
in the -fire” as far as summer
plans go. "That way if two fall'
through I. have the third to fall'
back on!' He tells me that Hit
Parade has been getting more;
adult fan mail this season than
before. "Probably that's because f
of the new time. It's hard to
find a perfect time -slot. The
eight to ten week night hours
are choice" he said "but we
certainly wouldn't want to be op-
posite Perry Como."
The car I was telling you
about that Don Francks built
still hasn't arrived in Toronto.
It night be entered in the an-
nual $ritish Columbia Motor
Show.
In the midst of heavy rehear-
sals Don and I found' a few
minutes to chat. I asked what
he considered were his pet
peeves and he laid claim to two.
The first — rock and roll. The
second (and to this one I whole-
heartedly agreed) — "People
who don't mind their own busi-
ness!"
Carol Starkman tired of being
thrust into poor roles on the
CBC's hope that her pretty face
might camouflage a poor script,
journeyed to Los Angeles recent-
ly with one objective in mind —
to find out if she could pass by
tough studio heads on her act-
ing ability. The results were
more than encouraging and now

Smelt Run Still Coming
Game .overseer Hank Greene,
Exeter, reported the first big
run of smelt in this area Tues-
day night.
Several airmen
S v l from BCAF
.e
Station Centralia netted about
15 gallons of smelt in about an
hour Tuesday night. '.rhe run
came between midnight and one
o'clock.
Despite the size of their
catch, the airmen weren't happy
about the condition of the fish.
Over half of them, they reported
to the game official, were "just
full of worms."
District fisherman, w h o `
covered different points from
Grand Bend to Goderich had
little luck in catching an abun-
dant supply of smelt this past
week. Although some came
home with half a pail full or
so, the main run isn't .expected
to take place until the end of
this week,,
Suckers are in a plentiful
supply around the district as
many ardent sportsmen have
been able to catch all they've
wanted and many more besides.
