WCTU Studies Pill Problems Announcement was made of the 81st annual provincial W,C.- T.U. convention to be held in Sarnia, •June 3, 4 and 5, at the March meeting of the Exeter- Hensall, branch of the W.C.T.U. held at the home of Mrs, Her- man Powe last Tuesday. Discussion subjects included the effects of liquor advertising on youth and tranquillizers. It was revealed that in Ontario an estimated one-tenth pi men and women in mental institutions are pill addicts; there are four times as many of these addicts as opiate users and one-third as many as alcoholics; they should be used only on a doctor's pre- scription.
