(Irwin's Ladies Wear)
Once again it is time to think
,of spring apparel: Colours this
year are very bright and gay.
Orange Ice is the. big shade.
Yeu'il love the new drip drys
and terylene cottons and silks.
They whisk through: a wash,
dry in shape and Lake little or
no ironing.
The dresses are not all che-
mise. We still have the beautiful
full skirts. The neck lines are
high in the front and low in the
back. To wear with your lovely
cottons, "just a hint of a ;tint„
in your nylons. Hand 'bags are
large and very colorful.
For coats. button or clutch,
make your choice --you cannot bG,
wrong; each in a thrilling ne*
range of color,
lalouses are both tuck -ins or
chemise.
Sportswear is very eiisy to
wear for the active life of the
girl who loves to dress for coin -
fort,. White is the big shade in
sportswear.
So sail into spring with all its
beautiful colour in your cos-
tuin e,

A. May & Son, modeled by Mrs. R. E. Russell. This round-
ed neck chemise dress of satin and linen stripe in summer
beige. has high bust treatment, banded in plain linen and
finished with. a simple bow. The full length coat of plain
linen with bracelet length sleeves has a collar deep at
the back and finished at the front with two buttons. It
will be popular for dress -up occasions all summer.—Doerr

chemise or not, `It seems to be
the centre of controversy.
The clay time dress is built on
the straighter lines and in mate-
rials such as light weight cotton
tweeds, linens and shanlungs
,often topped with bolero length
jackets.
Two-piece dresses are featur-
ing straight skirts with pegged
.lop to give hip fullness and the
blouson with hip -length and hack
fullness complete the .outfit.
Necklines are in the limelight
and we find the nautical collar
in the middy style excellent.
For the dress made in floral
prints the bateau neck and, hal-
ter styles are worn, and they
can be used for evening wear
as well as afternoon.
Belts are interchangable. Of-
ten we find. two belts with a
costume. The cummerbund in
contrasting material to dress up
a printed silk and the arrow
belt of self material to dress it
down,
The junior miss will be happy
in her sports soutfits. The slim
fitting toreador pants with high
waistline is topped with wide
striped jerseys: Added to this
she must have a car coat in
toga -sheen material; then she
is ready for the Keach.
Not all dresses are of straight
linos so the ladies. who favor
fuller skirts can find just what
they need in the assortment of
princess styles. Billowing out to
fullness at the hemline, soft
pleats often appear, at the Waist-
line and the materials used
such as pure silk bouquet, prints
and plaid patterns in the soft
orlon, shantung and viscose
blends are easy to cart for.
For Baster the coat and suit
is foremost in our minds and
this year the soft lines are new.
Coats have yolk treatments.
Often we find the cocoon backs
ending with tapered skirts.
Suits .have blouson anti coon
backs and materials are soft
and easily (leaped.
Colors are light stressing
beige, riviera blues, permit green
and petal rose tomes:

This dress in navy and white flocked material, worn by
Mrs, Arthur Frayne, is a favorite in this -spring's styles
from Irwin's Ladies' Wear. The full, easy skirt and short
'bolero jacket make it an outfit to wear anywhere. By re-
moving the jacket the low -neck, sleeveless dress is suit-
able for dress -up occasions. . —Doerr Photo

Pill Problems
Announcement was made of
the 81st annual provincial W,C.-
T.U. convention to be held in
Sarnia, •June 3, 4 and 5, at the
March meeting of the Exeter-
Hensall, branch of the W.C.T.U.
held at the home of Mrs, Her-

be used only on a doctor's pre-
scription.

the meeting and Mrs. '.Powe led
