CORRESPONDENTS Mrs, Maude Hedden, Phone $ Mrs, Archie McGregor, Phone 196 t , Give Award At Ceremony Jane Horton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, .ert Horton, of Hen- sall, *as presented Wednesday night with her Gold Cord, the highest award in Guiding. The presenation was made by Mrs, E. F, Elligson of Stratford, camp advisor for Huronia area who also pinned a corsage of bronze Talisman roses on Mrs. Horton as mother of the year, Jane also received a Guide ring from the Hensall Girl Guides Association and a Bible from Mrs. Roberta Luxton, Dis- trict Commissioner, on behalf U of the district. Also complimented on her work on Guiding was Joan Kers- lake, who received All Round Cord, the first to be earned in Hensall. Five Guides, Kathy Scane, Ruth Ann Traquair, Lin- da Noakes, Marlene Reid and ! Sharon McArthur were enrolled. I Carol Brown and June Lorraine received second class badges and proficiency badges, Brown- ies Ann Mickle, Barbara Schwalm ! and Suzanne Rannie received 1 badges for proficiency in music. The Brownies under Mrs. E. Rowe, Brown Owl, and Mrs. Mervyn Bell, Tawny Owl, dem- onstrated their opening pow • wow, and closing ceremonies. Rev. Chas. D. Daniel spoke • briefly welcoming the Guides and Brownies to the Sunday School room of the United Church where the meeting was held. A film of the centenary camp at Doe Lake was shown by Mrs. S.
