Leprechauns In NYC
—Conthfued from Page 1
"Next year," says Harold, '
"we'll take part in the St. Pa-
trick's Day parade in New York.
It's a tremendcins show," The
Leprechauns were offered seats
to see the parade and Harold
was invited to join the dignita-
ries on the reviewing stand but
they didn't have time,
The Lucan promoter already
has straws in the wind for RI -
pure events in Lucan as a result
of the escapade. The president
of the American minor hockey
organization has promised to
send the U.S. champion pee wee
team to Lucan and there's a
possibility that Maureen O'Hara
may be the guest at next year's
Shamrock tournament. Ed Sul-
livan may bring his St, Patrick's
day show to Lucan next year,
who knows?
Meanwhile, however, there's
a small matter of $300 to raise
to finish paying for this year's
trip. The deficit has been staked
by a Lucan man but there's hope
it can be raised quickly.
But who's worrying about $300?
What a trip!
The Leprechauns who made
the trip were Randy Paul, Bob
Hardy, Gary Revingtoa, Ward
Hodgins, Doug Coughlin, Rodger
Black, Eddie Harrigan, Larry
Lewis, Bryan Smith, Paul Steaey,
Ernie O'Neil, Paul Young; Bar -
bare Ready, Patsy Harrigan and
Karen O'Neil.
The shamrock and shillelagh
which brought the team so much
good luck was supplied by a
couple from Exeter who dropped
into the Lucan arena on Satur-
day.
For the boys, highlight of the
trip was not the appearance on
TV but the tour of Madison
Square Gardens where the man-
ager showed how the interior of
the building is changed nightly
to accomodate hockey, wrest-
ling, basketball and other acti-
vities. Meeting Montreal Cana-
dia s, particularly Rocket Rich-
ard, was another thrill.
Maureen' O'Harn. y•he
with the team at length, .was ,the
actress picked as the favorite OL
the Lucan group.
Would they like to go again?
"Would we • ever!".
