The Mohawks, who have been playing the series with an injury - riddled lineup, looked to be well oil their way to winding up the series when leading 5-4 up until the 18.08 mark. Then the roof fell in. Successive_ Philipsburg goals by Jimmy Pfaff, "Buff" Arnold and hard-worjing centre Gerry For - ler, put a tired band of Mohawks behind a 7-5 verdict. Close to 400 fans Witnessed the fifth game of the series which saw . Pfaff open the scoring at 4.20 of the initial period. Mo- hawks' >#iil Oberle and. Bill Franklin shot the Tribe into a 2-1 lead minutes later but Jerry Steffler evened the count for the Clievs at 14.20. "Buff" Arnold got credit for a fast second -period 'goal at the six - second mark, which caromed into the net Off an Exeter player parked in front or the net for the only goal of the Middle stanza. Philipsburg went two up at 1.26 of the third with Forler once Again blinking the light. But the Tribe fought right back with three Successive goals by Jimmy MacDonald, Bill Franklin and Don Gravett to lift them back up into a one -goal lead. Then the fireworks started when one Of the officials nailed Calvin Honderich for tripping, and sent him to the sin bin. The minor seemed to .light a torch for the Chevies' club as they rifled home three quickies to put the game on .ice for coach Walter "Punch" Scherer. BX'B'1'5111. —.
