church on Shrove Tuesday and
was postponed due to the weath-

members, Carolyn Glanville was
in charge of worship and study

Couple Hurt in 3 -Car Crash
Mr, and Mrs. Oren Grace
(nee Bernice Haist formerly of
Crediton) now of 9400 Morten -
view, Dearborn, Mich, were
taken to Oakwood Hospital after
their car was involved in an ac-
cident with a car driven by H.
Lamack of Huron Township and
a second car driven by Melvin
Sad of Royal Oak Saturday
evening, March 1.
Lamack was driving south on
Telegraph and lost control of
his car and jumped the island,
his car spun around and was hit
by the Grace's cal., which in
turn was struck by Suhd's car.
Mrs. Grace suffered a broken
wrist while her husband suffered
an injured knee. 'Both suffered
facial lacerations. Their car was
a total wreck.
Open House

The March meeting of the
Woman's Association was held
in the basement of the church on
Wednesday afternoon of last
week. Mrs. Reg. Hodgson presid-
ed for, the program
The devotional period was
taken by Mrs. Ray Laramie and
Mrs. J. T. Clarke. Mrs. W. Wil-
son gave a -reading and Mrs. A:L!

Colored slides were shown by
Sgt. and Mrs. Campbell of the
RCAF, who were previously
posted in France and Africa.

were interesting.
Mrs. L. Hodgson presided 'for
the business part of the meet-
ing. Donations were received
for the bazaar.

The W.M.S. met in the school-
room of the church on Tuesday
evening with Mrs. L. Hicks, '
Mrs. Osborne and Mrs. Bayn-
ham in charge of the program.
The meeting opened with read-
ings by each of the three ladies.
Portions of a letter from a Budd-
hist priest in Ceylon were read
by Mrs. Osborne.
The study book "Youth of
Japan" was presented by Mrs.
L. Hicks and Mrs. Osborne in
an interesting and informative
manner, An Easter chant "The
Cross Was His Own" was sung
by Mrs. L. Hicks, Mrs. Osborne
and Mr. K. Hodgins with Mrs.
George Hepburn at the pisno.
Mrs. M. Elliott presided for
the business. Mrs. Smith read
an instructive article in con-
nection with her work on Chris-
tian Citizenship. Mrs. L. Hot1g-.
son reported on the work and
aims of the Cancer society. A
letter was read from Mrs. Bridg-
man, a missionary in Portugal.

a fall in her home on Tuesday
morning and severely injured
her shoulder, and is MOW a pa-
tient in South Huron Hospital.

She was a granddaughter of
