THIS
'N THAT
I J
By MRS. J. M. 5.
A pushbutton kitchen is every
woman's dream. It eliminates
most of the -every day chores of
cleaning and cooking.
This fabulous kitchen has been
on display this past month at the
New England Hone Show in Bos-
ton. It has been flown to the In-
ternational Trade Fair in Milan,
Italy,
In this kitchen cabinets open
with a wave of the hand, pots and
pans are automatically cleaned
and stored, foods are cooked
electronically, recipes are pro-
jected in color on the wall and a
self-cleaning and mixing unit
drops from a wall cabinet for
mixing, blending, grinding and
shredding foods.
With a jerk of a finger, •a
frigera'tor mores down front a
wall cabinet to a. ,Convenient
level; a utensil storage drawer
glides open and the kitchen floor
is kept spotless by a' mobile floor
cleaner which functions automat-
ically.
Too good to be true? Most of
these innovations are still some
years away from production but
all are within the range of labor-
atdr:v research. Whether these
appliances will be mass-produced
will depend on the reactions of
housewives who see the kitchen.
