Personal Items Casey Hudson, of Goderich, a former well-known Hensall boy, suffered serious injuries m an accident at Goderich last week when his side -walk snowplow struck a tree stump hidden be- neath the snow, causing him to fall into the machinery of the vehicle. He suffered a cut liver and ruptured spleen, which was removed, as we -U as other intern- . e injuries. Mrs. Laird suckle spent the weekend in Toronto visiting Mr. and Urs. Clifford Cox and Derry. Mts. Cox, who was the former Mary Stewart, of Seaforth, was well known here, having taught several years ago in the Hensall Continuation School. Dignan from the Bontltron Fun- eral Chapel on Tuesday with Rev. C. D. Daniel officiating. Burial was made in Exeter cem- etery Mrs, Dignan. who was in her 86th year died in Clinton on Sunday. The former Emily Troyer she was born, in Hay Township and has been a resident of Hensall for some 15 years. She was a member of Hensall United Church. Mr. Dignan died m July 194a, Surviving are one sister. Mrs. William Hyde, Hensall, and a number of nieces and nephews. W.I. Euchre The euchre and dance held in the town hall Friday evening was largely attended with twenty two tables in play for euchre. Winners were; ladies, Mrs. Jack McKay, Mrs. Charles Eyre, Mrs. R. Taylor sr.; gents, Rea- ert Gemmell, Earl Dietrich, Wil- fred. Tremeer; winner of lucky lunch, Mrs. Wilfred Tremeer. Norris orchestra furnished mu- sic or the dance. Mrs. Edna Corbett spent the weekend with her son-inaaw and daughter, Mr. and Mrs, Harold Parker at Chiselhurst. Mrs.- Flynn of Exeter spent a few days this week with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr, and Mrs. Joseph Flynn. Mr, and Mrs. Harry McAdams and son and Mrs, T. Tetreau of Zuricii were recent visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Thiel and aniily, Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Chip - chase were in Goderich on Sat- urday attending the wedding of the latter's niece, Miss Eliza- beth Jeanette Morris and Sgt. Charles Gene Shaw of Camp Borden. The' bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Morris, former Mensal! resi- dents. The wedding was solem- nited in, the Anglican church and the reception in the church parlors. Mrs. Stewart McQueen frac- tured her right ankle which will be in a cast for a month, X-rays at South Huron Hospital, Exeter revealed the injuty. Mrs. Mc- Queen is resting comfortably at her home, Mrs, Minnie Sangster, while spending the weekend at. the home of her son Douglas Sangs- ter of London, fell and fractured her right wrist which will be in a cast. for six weeks. At present she is with her daughter and son- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Herb Stret- ton, Liman.
