On My Soap Box: Rumour that
Howdy Doody is to be replaced
next year by the assinine Cap-
tain Gangaroo should have many
viewers with children up in
verbal arms. Howdy Doody,
unsponsored, is, in my opinion,
one of the best• children's pro-
grams currently being televised.
To replace it with an American
irnport, and an inferior one at
that, would be to add yet another
blow to Canadian television
which is already reeling from
the jabs of US westerns. Soine
comments now, before negotia-
tions are made, might save the
show for the children. 1 agree it,
is buffoonery, but better to have
Canadian nonsense than hnnorted
predigested pap. I'll be glad to
hear your comments, and to pass
them on if you care to send.
