Delights Crowd At Arena
, Thursday night, a capacity
crowd of parents, friends and
children filled the auditorium of
the Lucan Community Memorial
Auditorium for the annual Ono
cert, Staged by teachers and pu-
pils of the Lucan Public School.
Remembering their own mu-
sic -less school -days, no doubt
the wonderful choruses and choir
work under the leadership of
Miss Bette Leake, appealed
greatly to all adults present.
Her final Christmas pageant was
particularly colorful and well
done and must have entailed
many hours of concentrated
practice to secure such perfec-
tion.
Mrs. Harold Cobleigh's wee
grade 1 and 2 pupils were as
cute as they could be in "Mo-
ther Goose Land" and acted like
old timers. All the nursery
rhyme people were there and
with true Christmas spirit
helped to fill Mother Ilubbards'
empty cupboard for her.
Mrs. W. Allison's grade 2 and
3 put on "Snow White," The
seven dwarfs were a big hit but
all. did their parts well.
Mr. W. Swie,k's grade 5 and 6
folloWed, with "Hans Christian
Andeeson:" which •proved very
interesting, all children speak-
ing out well,
Then came Mrs. Art Black's
grade 4 and 5 in the "Nut Craz.
cker Suite" which with its large
Christmai tree, tin soldiers etc.
was particularly colorful and
well done.
Principal Wesley Clow's itrade
7 and 8 in "The Truth -telling
Machine" made a, big hit with
the children. Thouh fewer chil-
dren took part in this number
and though it was not so 'color-
ful, yet it proved most amusing
to one and all. '
