with the air force troop. We eon

Centralti, at the next cainporee.
Our ew "skipper" is Italell
Sweitzer. He has come up with
some terrific ideas for the troop
since he joined as I.S.M. a year
ago. We should be in for some
good meetings, camps, etc., from
now
The troop's first winter hike
on be chalked tip as a success.
Twelve boys, two leaders and
two dogs ploughed up and ddwn
sand. clunes and through the bush
at the Pinery last weekend to
see what Camp ,centrexton
looked like in wieder. It was
quite a hike to the lake, but the
fellows still had enough energy
to climb up and slide down the
lake shore dunes. The neuters
were in on the sliding, toe, arid
have hruises to prove it.
Starting a fire in the snow can
be a bit of a problem as Philip
Dzoba, Barry Grainger arid Fred
Wells. found out. Fred Sanders
worked at his and enjoyed (?)
at least some of his steak and
potatoes.
Wayne Brown was able to
recognize' his trees even witho4
their leaves, and aa a result is
One step closer to his first class
badge.
Parents' eight is history now,
but it was fun for the boys and,
we hope, their parents,. who
proved to be good sports in the
relay races.
Only six days until Santa ar,
rives in towre and the Boy Scout
Christmas trees have been sell.
Ing like hot cakes. Either thd
product is good or the boys are
expert salesmen, because few
customers leave the Huron Lunt-
ber without ••a tree under
their arni.
The patrol competition i5 as
close a race as we've had, with
less than 400 points separating
the three patrols. The Beavers
are currently leading the race
which ends Decent -bet 30, and
when you realize that a. pr_o-
ficiency badge will bride 100
points, or a patrol Alike 500, you
can see that things could change
quickly. A trip •to the Sports.
