On Forums

Huron Count" Farm Forums
met for their annual meeting in
the Blyth Memorial Hall Wed-
nesday evening, with about 100
present.
The county preside,nt, Mrs.
Vera Greig, presided and corn-
mented on the activities of the
provincial organization of which
she is first vice-chairman. She
announced that farm , forum
broadcast will be carried over
CKNX-TV for the three broad-
casts in January and in March.
We are fortunate in having
such a progressive TV station
in our locality and we should.
take a serious interest in this
test program.
Doug McNeil, president of Hu-
ron. County Federation of, Agri-
culture„ brought, greetings and
thanked the Forums for the sup-
port and valuable ideas that
they originate. Many important
resolutions have been developed
through the forums for presen-
tation to government by the On-
tario, Federation of Agriculture.
Chas. Coultes, chairman of the
county federation C.I.A. com-
mittee thanked the forumor
the support given- to the Co -Op
Insurance. He complimented Hu-
ron drivers on their good acci-
dent record in 1957.s Any influx
ence that farm forum can have
on encouraging safe driving
will be greatly appreciated..
Roger Schwass, of the farm
department of CKNX, was guest
speaker, showing slides of his
trip through western Canada and
United States. His pictures re-
vealed tht way of life. in the dif-
ferent districts. He predicted a
great future for farm forum in
adapting farm people li the "in-
dustrial .revolution' now taking
place in agriculture.
Township directors elected
were: Mrs, �. McCharles, Ro-
bed . 'Vital, Russell Knight, Bob
McMillan, Eric Anderson, Ted
Mills, Bill Taylor, Fred Lobb,
John Soldan, Earl Heist. Lewis
Johns. At a directors' meeting
which -followed Mrs. Vera Greig
was elected chairman, Bob Mc-
Millan vice-chairman.
