Rev. J. T. Clarke narrowly
• escaped serious injury last week
when he was struck in the face,
close to Ms eye, with the handle
of the •car jack while he was
•changing a tire on the way home
from London.
Miss Flossie Davey was a pas-
senger in the car with, Mr.
Clarke. They had been visiting
with Mrs. T. Willis in Victoria
Hospital.
A passing motorist from Sea -
forth gave assistance and took
Mr. Clarke to the office of Dr.
W. Read in Exeter where he
was treated for the injury.

a bachelor of science' degree in
agriculture, and post graduate
study of two -and -one-half years
at Michigan State, Lansing, to
obtain the master of science de,

degreof aloctor of philosophy
in agriculture.
His .specialized training in the
chemistry of soil enabled him
to make great strides in re-
habilitating Angola's worn-out
soil. He is recognized as one of
the greatest living authorities
on African soil.
' Rev. Dr. Knight has been in
Africa since late 1945, and re-
turned to Canada on furlough
last June. Be is easily the most
outstanding missionary home on
furlough at the present time.
