Following a lengthy illness,
Mrs. Francis ,Clark diedin,,South,,
Huron Hospital on Friday; Nov-
ember 1 ta her .,.21st year.
The 'former Effie Lewis,. she
was a daligter tle late Mr.
and Mrs. •ewis., She
was born in ,Crediton and, with
the exception of seven years she
and Mr. .Clark spent in Granton,
her .entire life, was spent here.
•She, and Mr. Clark were mar-
ried in 997 and marked their
diamondanniversary in June of
this year..
Possessing a kind and lovable
disposition, she was adored by,
a host -of .friends, A faithful,
member of Crediton United,
Church she was an active work-:
er in the different .organizations •
and filled the office of Ladies'
,Aid president, teacher in 'Church
Seim' and choir leader for.
Many yeas.
Surviving besides her 'husband,
who has been her faithful help-
er during her years of illness,
are .one .son, R'ussell, of Detroit
and one daughter (Laura), Mrs.
Harry Dale -ef Brampton; four
grandehildren, Mrs, James
'Sebroeder, London, Donald and
Ted Dale of Brampton, Glenn
Clark of Detroit and a great
grandson, jimmy Clark, also of
Detroit; and one brother, Wesley
Lewis, of Winnipeg. A daughter,
Merle, died in 1942.
Funeral was held on Monday
from the T, Harry Hoffman -fun-
eral home in Dashwood and was
conducted by Rev.,..A.. Rapson
assisted by Rev. L. Turner of
Lambeth, a former pastor,. In-
terment was in Exeter ceme-
tery.

Homemaking Club held their
second meeting at the home of
Mrs, Alvin Moir, associate lead-
er. •
Each of the 17 members pre-
sent showed a sample of wool
and told why they decided it
was wool.
Leader Mrs. Arthur Rundle
discussed .the record books and
their contents, also the choice
of skirt each member is re-
quired to make. Members were
urged to check their patterns
and read the acompanying in-
structions.
Mrs. 'Moir demonstrated how
to shrink wool material and how
to pin/ the pattern on material.
'The third meeting was held
Monday evening at the home of
the leader,Mrs. Arthur Rundle,
who explained to the 13 mem-
bers present how to make alters.

Mrs.. Moir demonstrated stay
stitching used to prevent stretch-
ing of the bias edge of materials.
Some of the girls cut their
skirts according to pattern under
the .supervision of -the leaders.
