to February. We had heard this
variety -of apples mentioned on
TV as being the only kind of
apple .that does not discolor
when peeled for a length of
time in fact the cook on the
3 p.m. program was using ap
pies that she had peeled in the
morning and they remained

riety to use in salads.
We checked with a local dealer

The annual reports for 11
months were given -by secreta-
ries aifd conveners.
Mrs. R. E. Pooley, treas. re-
ported that $2,459.00 had., been
raised during the year, Mrs. E.
R. Hopper gave the amounts
raised by various projects as,
bridge and euchre party in Feb-
ruar, $111.50; bakeless bake
sale in March, $104.75; rummage
sale in May; $806.83; tag day in
September, $700.01 rummage
sale in October, $338.60 with a
minumum total expense of $34.69.
Convener of the sewing com-
mittee, Mrs: Witmer, for Mrs.
V. Heywood, reported 402 articles
had been made and had been
cut by Mrs. Arthur Fraser and
her committee. Tray committee,
Mrs. Alien Fraser, had provided
favors for patients' trays on spe-
cial days and also table .centres
fok,nurses' dining table. Mrs. H.
Pollen reported a membership
of 108. Mrs. T. G. ]iunlop spoke
for the hospital Board and also
gave an outline of the organiza-
tion and management of hospi-
tals in general.
Miss Alice Claypole, reporting
for the staff, spoke of the fine
co-operation between the auxili-
ary and the hospital, and invited
the auxiliary members to be
guests of the nursing staff at the
regular auxiliary meeting in
December.
Mrs. G. Koch, representative
of the cancer society, gave the
main features of the November
meeting of that unit.

Highlights of the Hospital
Auxiliaries convention held in
conjunction with the Ontario Hos-
pital Association convention
which they attended recently in
Toronto as delegates of the«
auxiliary, were given by Mrs.
MacNaughton and Mrs. Dobbs,
The Hospital Auxiliaries have
the largest membership of any
women's organization in. Ontario,
and 150 hospitals were represent-
ed at the convention, The dele-
gates felt the local auxiliary
compared favorably with others
in the same category.

tilly lace and net over satin,
fashioned with strapless lace bo-
diee with pleatednylon inset,
full three tiered skirt of net with
front panel of lace over satin.
A matching bolero was styled
with rounded collar and lily
point sleeves. A headdress of
seed pearls and opalescent se -
mans held her finger tip veil and
her bridal bouquet were red ro-
ses, white mums and ivy.
Miss Ruth Soldan of Han ll -
tan, attended the bride as maid
of honor, wearing a gown of
pale blue_taffeta in waltz length
with full bouffant skirt, A
matching velvet headdress and
bouquet of white and yellow
mums and ivy completed her en-
semble.
Jim McGregor of Kippen, bro-
ther of the groom, was best man.
For the reception held at
Armstrong's Restaurant, Exeter,
the bride's mother received wear-
ing an afternoon dress in blue
and grey taffeta with. accessor-
ies in black and corsage of pink
carnations and white stephanotis.
The groom's mother chose a
sheath dress 1n dusty rose with black and red. and wearing a
knack aecessories, and a white corsage .of redcarnations and
carnation i:orsage. white stephauptis.

dale Jolly Jills in the club
"Working with Wool" was held
on Saturday at the home of the
leader, Mrs. Arthur Rundle,
Mrs. Alvin Moir is assistant
leader.

president for this club; Kathryn
Hicks, vice president; Shirley
Morley secretary and Carole
Westcoit, press reporter,
The girls are required to make
a skirt or skirt and waistcoat
and keep a record book during
this project. Mrs. Rundle dis-
cussed the requirements of each
girl's sewing kit and enlarged
on the qualities and -varieties
of wool.
Each member was given six
samples of wool and Mrs. Moir
demonstrated three tests for
proving. the materials were wool;
by, touch, by burning and by
using water and lye, •
