Arena
Activities
By Harold Ribson
Lucan Merchants, who play in
the South Middlesex Hockey
League, are looking for players.
Mr. Harry Hardy passed the in-
formation on to me, and I think
it's a wonderful opportunity for
players too old for midget. The
teams in the league usu'ally play
two games a week.
Lucan drama club organized
on Monday night with a good
turnout, and the ,interest was
high. Everyone is looking for a
good year under the leadership
of Murray Hodgins, newly -
appointed president.
Other positions filled were:
Vice-president, Catherine Bonn;
secretary, Cliff Culbert; treas-
urer, Jack Stacey; business
manager, Jack Cantelon, and
chief electrician, Sandy Young.
Lila Ribson was appointed di-
rector for the first show. which
will be a musical comedy to be
presented on November 7, 8 and
9. We hope to have even a better
show than last year. Don't miss
it!
The drama club will. hold a
meeting Sunday afternoon at 3.00
p.m. sharp in the arena. Mr.
Peter Deering, director of Lon-
don's Little Theatre, will be the
guest' speaker: Everyone .inter-
ested in show business is
welenme.
"Remember, there's no busi-
ness like show. business," and
drama, can be fun!
I attended Monday night's
meeting and enjoyed every min-
ute of it, In fact, I got more
laughs than watching TV for a
week.
Don't forget Saturday, October
5. Now be sure and don't forget
Oz•.ober 5. This will be the big-
gest attraction the Lucan Arena
has ever had. 'First it was
"Heidi" direct from the Ed Sul-
livan Show. Then the Everly
Brothers, and now October 5.
Watch for, the ad next week!
Lucan Irish Six held their sec-

the league.
• The Community clubs held
