Sit Ontario Provincial Police dis-
trict headquarters at Mount For-
est for assistance in providing
protection for the village.
At a° meeting Monday night,
Clerk J. A. Paterson and Ceun-
cilier Jim Sangster reported two
instances itt which area police
did not answer calls for assist-
ance, One call involved an acci-
dent in the village,
Hensall Policeman Ernest
Davis is on holidays. He is visit-
ing relatives in England.
Council approved a grant of
$50 towards the cost of fencing
at Hensall Union Cemetery. The
request was made by R. J.
Paterson, a member of the
board.
A grant of $70 was approved
for the Hensall School Fair
Board. Howard Se,ane presented
the request.
Since there were no• appeals
against the 1957 assessment roll,
council did not hold a' court of
revision,

have attained her 100th birthday

had been a widow for sixty-two

ing committee for September.

ried August 28, 1912, at the hone
of the bride's mother, Mrs. John
Wn.

arty Presbyterian Church per-

present was Rev.. Doherty of
Staffa Anglican Church, They
took up residence on the bride-
groom's farm near Cromarty,

where they resided until 1950,
when they moved to their present
home in Cromarty. They are
faithful members of St. Mary's

Anglican Church i . in Dublin.
Mrs. Allen, the former Mary
Agnes Worden, was born May 18,
1884, in Hibbert , Township. She
has resided there all her life, and
is veryactive in church work,

and always ready with a willing
hand to help her 'family. She
likes to crochet and knit in her
spare time.'
Mr. Allen was born October 28,
1881, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Anthony Allen, of Hibbert. There
w.as a family of twelve children.
He lived on his father's farm
till his retirement seven years
ago.
For many years, he served his
munieipality as councillor and.
then reeve of Hibbert. in 1953,
he was warden of Perth County,
after ti
a..t. which ch he retired from pub-
lic life, Mr. • Allen is still very
active, and spends some part of
each day on the farm, His handi-
ness as .a carpenter was a great
boon to his son-in-law, Murray
Christie, when he was' building
his new barn this summer.
Their marriage 'was blessed
with four children, Vera (Mrs.
Alfred :Ross), Staffa; Margaret.
(Mrs, Murray Christie), Crom-
arty;: Anthony, 85 Duke St.,,
Stratford, and Eldon, 00 the
home farm at Cromarty. They
have twelve grandchildren and,
one great-V*4114child.

T. Laing, assisted by Mrs. T. L.

member gave current events.
