A meeting of the members of
the Ontario. Federation of Agri-
culture has been called for Sep-
tember 5 and 6 in Toronto. On
the 'sixth they will meet With re-
presentatives of the county win-
ter wheat committees. The sale
price of Ontario winter wheat is
cnrrently $1.25 per bus. This is
an absurd price when ,we find
grain dealers asking almost as
much fo r screenings, which may
be up to 65% weed seeds,
The winter wheat growers had
planned on setting up a wheat
board similar to the whitebean
plan but found th
at wheat is the
one product that is excluded from
this act. They then asked to have
it come under the Canadian
Wheat Board. This has not been
accepted as yet, The only advice
to • wheat growers is to hold
their wheat as far as possible in
hopes that something can be done i
to mprove the situation.
The executive of the county
'beef producers met recently and
are planning a general meeting
soon. They hope to have Ralph.
Bennet t, Dominion Livestock
Commissioner, as guest speaker.
The meeting will be preceded by
a beef dinner.

The mens uniforms were dif-

sleeping quarters for senior of-
ficers were similar to the size
of a modern bedroom and con-
tained old-fashioned furniture.
The boys in training slept up-
stairs in very dull rooms. There
were 19 men in one room with
one stove in the centre.
Saturday night, we stayed hi
Kingston at the La Salle Hotel

for their rooms.
