Activities
By HAROLD RIBSON
Alta- the huge success of Fri.
day Nite's "Rock and Roll Ex-
travaganza," Lucan Arena can
be classed With the outstanding
entertainment centres in the
country.
We actually made history,
in asmuch as the appearance of
the Tverly Brother' was the
first time that any personality,
enjoying the No.. 1 spot on the
Hit Parde, has appeared. any-
where in .Canada, !while , still
holding that distinction. .,
The Everly. Brothers are a
very fine pair of boys4 likeable
and most co-operative, It !was a
pleasure to work with them,
The large crowd attending the
dance proved beyend a doubt
that all '"Rock and Roll" en-
thusiasts are not necessarily
rowdies, for they were an ex-
tremely well-behaved audience.
Not one person had to be cau-
tioned.
I would like to thank tbe staff,
the Lucan Legion and the ladies
committee for their wonderful
assistance.
More big time attractions' afe
being arranged for the -near
future.

arranged.
We are hoping for a good
turn -out for the 'mass church
service Sunday, Atfgust .11, to
be held in the arena at 830 p.m.
On Friday night of this week,
we are starting a series of regu-
lar dances with the Mel-o-denes,
the band that were 'the favorites
of the Rock' and Roll fans and
who received some fine
compfl-
ments by the Everly Brothers,
