nylon sheer and bertha collar
edged in lace daisies. A full
length net embroidered veil and
pearlsweet-heart headdress com-
pleted her ensemble. She carried
a corsage of American Beauty
roses and white carnations with
streamers.
Miss Hazel Frost of Lucan was
her sister's only attendant. She
wore a gown of yellow lace and
net, with bouffant ballerina
length . skirt and lace bolero and
yellow rosette band headdress.
She carried a nosegay of yellow
roses with shasta mums.

meeting last Wednesday at the
home of Mrs. Joe Beatson, The

gins and Mrs, Erwin Scott. Mrs.
Irene Coursey, Mrs, Wilyson Hod-
gins and Mrs. C. H. Hawkshaw
assisted Mrs. Beatson as host-
esses.
It was decided to dispense with
a July meeting and to accept
Mrs, Harold Corbett's invitation
to hold the August meeting' at
the Corbett farm,
Bruce Haskett, four year old
son of Mr, and Mrs. Calvin Has -
kelt, who has been in the habit
of riding on the tractor with his
grandfather, Mr. Mitchell Has-
kett, both of Alice St., had a
narrow escape from death last
Tuesday afternoon when he fell
from the tractor, which ran over
his shoulder and part of his
head.
Mr. Haskett picked him up for
dead, carried him 40 , rods to
his and rushed him to Dr.
Patterson who could find no
broken bones.
Bruce is now up and around
but his face and head are still
- badly discolored, Mr, Haskett,
who has a heart condition is
still under the doctor's cars and
is suffering from shock.
The meeting was then turned
over to Mrs. Harold Hodgins who
gave an interesting talk on the

June meeting last Wednesday
at the home of Mrs. B. H. El-
liott with the president, Mrs,

It was voted to purchase a
Diocesan Flag for the church,
There will be no July, meet-
ing but a picnic was planned
for August 22 at the president's
cottage, near, Grand Bend.

at Ethelbert W.M.S. hospital,

or a lector could have no better
training than •to work. in such a
hospital,

trustees accepted the resigna-
tion: of Mr, B, Il. Elliott who is
leaving to take up a teaching
position in Barrie.
Mr. Elliott came to Lucan in
1952 and for several years served
as . principal. He bed the' diffi-
cult task of organizing and su-
pervising _classes in make -shift
quarters following the fire which

The trustees have engaged Mr,
William Swick, whose home is
near Port Elgin, to replace Mr.
Elliott as teacher of grades 5
and 6 and to supervise athletics
and phyalcal education, Mr.
Swick had two years of teach-
ing experience in rural schools
before returning. to Stratford
Teachers College last fall,
