Honor Four
Grand. Bend Licins Club honored
three of its members and another
man in the community Thursday
night when it presented them.with
appreciation awards.
The Lions -Eric Mcllroy, W.
F, B. MacLaren, and Peter Eis-
enbah-received tributes for their
outstanding contributions to the
club since it was organized five
years ago.
11Ir. Mcllroy was the charter
president and has been active on
numerous committees since. The
other two members have served
as presidents and in other im-
portant posts.
, The fourth award, to Emmery
Stebbins, was for his work in
beautifying the south side of the
Ausable River near the highway
bridge with rock gardens.
The awards were presented by
Lions Bill Schlegel, Ken Young,
John Manore and Dave Jackson.
Governor Jake Sweitzer, Exe-
ter, installed the club's officers
for 57-58.

of summer playground supervi
sors are now closed and they
will be chosen this week. These
chosen will be taken to the play
ground leader training course to
be held at Camp Kintail ( 17
miles north of Goderich on Lake
Huron),from June 21 to 25 inclu
sive. This course is being spon-
sered by the Lake Huron Zone
Recreation Council in co,opera-
tion with the Community Pro-
fYgramnle Branch of the Ontario
Department of Education.
1t is designed to train youth
leaders on Playgrounds, in day
camps, church vocation schools,.
youth groups and other com-
munity youth prpgrams. The in-
struction will be of the highest
calibre and this course is offer-
ed only once a - year,,
An advanced course is being
planned for those who have at-
tended previous courses. Many
of the classes will be the same
but advanced leadership teach-
ing and skill training will be
given.
