officials are urging, every house-
holder in the municipality to co-
operate by improving grounds
and beautifying buildings,

Plan For Conve1ntion
In Dashwood Church
The 51st convention of the ,On
tario District of the Lutheran
Church–Missouri Synod. will he
held in Zion Lutheran Church,
Dashwood, June 3-7.
Delegates from Zion Lutheran
Church will be Mr. Reinhold
Miller and Pastor Kenneth Zorn,
About 139 pastors, lay delegates
and visitors will attend the con-
vention, The Ontario District
comprises over 100 congrega-
tions . with a total membership
of about 30,000.
' Rev. Dr. Harms, St. Louis,
second vice-president of the
Lutheran Church --Missouri Synod
will deliver the sermon at the
opening convention service on
Monday evening and will pre-
sent the synodical report during
the course of the convention,
Rev, Erdmann W. Frenk, pas-
tor of St. Peter's Church, Joliet,
111. will give an essay on "Con-
gregational Organization and
Work." .
The Pastors, lay delegates and
visitors will be housed in •the
homes of the members of Dash-
wood Lutheran congregation.
The ladies of the congregation
will provide the delegates with
their noon and evening reals in
the church basement.
In preparation for the conven-
tion, the members of Zion Luth-
eran congregation are enlarg-
ing and remodelling their church
basement by having the old coal
furnaces removed and putting in
two new oil furnaces in, the
back room thus making much
more space in the. main part of
the basement. They are also
sanding and revarnishing the
floors in the main auditorium of
the church:

• Last Friday evening marked
a special evening for Zion Luth-
eran church when 15 adults were
taken into membership. After a
short service in the main church
auditorium the new members
Were given a welcome in the
church basement by means of a
small lunch provided by the ex-
ecutive members of the Ladies'
Aid Society.

son, Miss Rolande Heroux, Mrs.
