In fourth place vamne a River- side group led by A. J. Bland- ford, London, and fifth spot was captured hy Downes' Western E Intermediates, This energetic London square dancer had a third group in the competition, the Western 8 Juniors. Winners of sixth place, and, a popular set with the local crowd, was the entry of Exeter Teen Time. Coached by veteran square dancer, Alf Hunkin, this group was enthusiastic. Said Miss Armitt; "I really like these teenagers; they were one of the most refreshing sets on the floor." Members of the Teen Time set were Fred Penhale and Pam MacMillan, Jim Hennessey and Marlene MacMillan, Cy Blonw- maert and Betty Brady, Merlin McLean and Louise Hockey, The Cromarty Step Dancers, even though 'they required last .minute substitution, delighted the crowd with their fast step- ping. ."They're the nicest step dancers I've seen in the coun- try," said Miss Armitt, but she penalized them for mistakes and lack of polish, Other sets competing in the senior contest included Doug Grayer's group from RCAF Sta- tion Centralia. Assisting Miss Armitt in the judging were Harry G. Hooke and Terry Lawrence, both of Exeter. Lloyd Wright andhis muticiaus from CFPL-TV played for the contest and sets were introduced by W. G. Cochrane. Town. Topics Mr. and Mrs. Fred Luxton and daughters of St. Thomas were holiday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. John. Luxton. Mrs. Netta Robinson and Mr. andMrs. William °Bloesing, of Detroit, visited with relatives over the weekend. Miss Jean Christie of Toronto and Mr. and Mrs. Eli Christie, Harley and David of London visited with Mr. and Mrs. Wit- p liam Thomson over the holiday. Mr. Albert T. Hamilton, Win- nipeg, is visiting with, Mr. and Mrs. William Sillery and other relatives ,in the vicinity. Group Captain Cameron, who ` was named commanding officer of Centralia in 1054, will be suc- ceeded by Group Captain Arthur Q. Kenyon, CD, who hasbeen in Prague for two years. ' Group Captain Kenyon was born in July, 1915, in Toronto, and educated there, in Ottawa, and at the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ont. He joined the RCAF in 1938 and trained as a pilot.
