Reid and a reading by Mrs, C. Sims, A vocal duet was given by Mrs. Lorne Preszcator and Miss Pat Cham- bers and a piano duet by Mrs. E. Fabrner and Mrs. I. Fink- beiner. Mrs. Ed. Lamport gave a report of the Officers' Confer- ence held recently in Guelph. Hostesses were Mrs, Zwicker, Mrs, Reid, Mrs. L, Hill, Mrs. C, Sims and Mrs, Alfred Smith. Fred Kerr, 80 Top Marksman Mr. Frederick Kerr who died in Exeter on Saturday in his 81st year was born at Crediton where he spent the greater part of his life. He was a well known brick and tile manufacturer and also operated a saw mill.. A famous trap shooter, he was the winner of numerous trophies in his younger years. He was a mem- ber of Crediton United Church and a faithful member of the official board.'^ Surviving ' are his wife, the Former Ethel Walker, one daugh- ter. Lula, Mrs, Aljoe Culbert of Lucan and one sister, Mrs. Ed- win Beaver of Crediton. Service was held at the Hop- per -Hockey Funeral Home on Tuesday and was conducted by Rev. Alex Rapson assisted by Rev. H. J. Snell. Masonic service took place at the funeral home on Monday evening, under the auspices of Lebanon Forest Lodge, Exeter. Burial was in Exeter cemetery. Failbearers were Chester Ma- whinney, Roy Ratz, Steven Dun- das, Wellington Haist, Maurice Quance and Harvey Pfaff. Personal Items Mrs. Ethel Kestle is a patient in South Huron Hospital. Mrs. Elmer Lawson has been confined to Victoria Hospital fol- lowing a two -car collision near Melrose on Sunday afternoon, when she received a fractured ankle after attending service with Mr. Lawson in Melrose church, the church of her girl- hood.
