Born near Crediton, bis entire life was spent in this' community, Lia farmed for many years east of Crediton, retired and moved. into the village two years ago. He was fond of flowers and whit- tling was a hobby. Surviving are one son, Aaron' of Exeter, and a daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Edith) Waggoner of To- ledo, Ohio.
