STUDENTS PROVIDE PAINTINGS — SHDHS students
raised the money to provide paintings for the new rooms
in the addition. Above, Marion Creery, 1956 student council
president, and Bill Pollen, her successor, view one of the

Places Second
Allison Clarke, Centralia, who
last week at South Huron District
High School, won the right to
enter the WOSSA regional public
speaking competition, placed sec-
ond in the contest at East Elgin
District High School on Friday in
the senior girls' division.
Jacqueline Douglas, of Inger-
loll, was winner of the girls'
event and Jerry Cadman, of
Catholic Central High School, who
came first at SHDHS, won first
among the boys.
Allison Clarke, in her prepared
speech, chose the topic,.`Influen-
tial Women iri History," and
"Let's Slow Down" for her im-
promptu. •
