The Guides and leaders of the
Exeter Company are Food and
happy people lately --more so
than usual that is. The reason
for this is the fact that we have
added .another Gold) Cord Guide
to. our record.
,t X.
+Bride s. Home
Margaret Sanders, our Oriole
i
Patrolleader, was successful di
passing her Division Test for
Gold Cords in Stratford on Sat,
urday, February 2 - to become
-Exeter's fourth. Gold Cord Guide,
Margaret has :somewhat of a
record for the company in that
she has earned twenty profici-
ency 'badges, plus her First
Class. This is the highest num-
ber .obtained by any Guide so
far in our Company, Seventeen
of these were necessary -for her
Cord.
As is our custom, when a
Guide earns her Gold Cord, a
mother and daughter banquet
will be held at whieh time the
Cords are presented. We hope'
to plea for this the latter part
of March.
Next Sunday evening our Com-
pany is :conducting a Guides'
Own service for other companies
of the surrounding ng
district. The
service is to be conducted by
the Guides themseves and so
we- hope that each one will be
present. •
There is a part for each girl
in the Company to be responsi-
ble for, duringgthe service. So
Guides, don't et us down! Be
sure to get out to the meeting
this week to find out what you'
have to dq.
We understand our Local As-
sociation is sponsoring a tea and
bake sale at the. Scout Hall on
February 23_ to tie in with the
rest of the Guide --Scout Week
activities. Possibly some of our
guides can be of assistance that
afternoon.
If there are any girls in the
community ten and a half years
or over, who would like to join
Guides, come on along to 'the
meeting Thursday night at 7.30.
Now is a good time to make a
start in Guiding when we are
celebrating Lord Baden-Powe11's
100th birthday or the fiftieth -an-
niversary of Scouting. We'll wel-
come you in the Company.
