These days most people work under
pressure, worry more, sleep Tess. This
strain on body and brain makes physical
fitness easier to lose -harder to regain.
Today's tense living, lowered resistance,
overwork, worry -any of these may affect
normal kidney action. When kidneys get
out of order, excess acids and wastes
remain in the system. Then backache,
disturbed rest, that "tired -out" heavy -
headed feeling often follow. That's the
time to take Dodd's Kidney Pills. Dodd's
stimulate the kidneys to normal action.
Then you feel better -sleep better -work
better. Ask for Dodd's Kidney Pills at
any drug counter. 53

R -E -A -C -HI -Effort like this is why South Huron senior girls' baskethall team remains
undefeated in the Perthex conference so far this year. Seen in an inter -squad
practice, Rosemary Dobson and Helen Taylor leap for the ball. Behind them are Marie
Salmon and Julia Gulens. Both senior girls and senior boys have yet to lose a ,game
this season. All four school teams won their matches against Listowel last week.
Cabers Swamp Listowel,
Capture All Four Games
South Huron District basket-
ball' teams enjoyed their most
prosperous week to date in the
Perthex Conference cage, league
schedule as they ran up four
consecutive victories against
Listowel High School.
;Altlbough Miss Seigner's and
Glenn. Mickle's teams came out
on the right end of the scorers,
three of the games were very
much in doubt right up until
the final few minutes of play in
the fourth quarter.
The closest contest of all took
place on the .Listowel basketball
court where the South Huron
Junior girls edged out a 30-28
victory.
Allison Clarke provided the
big spark for the locals around
the basket as she dropped in
five field goals and two foul
shots for a 12 point total.
Mirdza Gulens, who fouled out
of the game, made nine points
for her school.
Roxanne Beavers with four,
Jocelyn Howey with three and
Pat Lovell with two rounded
out the victory point -getters.
Evelyn Clelland was high for
Listowel with 13 points while
Helen Malcala followed with.
eight.
At home, with the score 27-
24 at three-quarter time, South
Huron Junior boys ' rallied to
outscore the visitors 10.5 in the
final frame and walk off with
a well-earned .37-29 victory.
Jim Russell was the highest
scorer either team produced as
he registered four baskets and
sank hist only two foul shots of
the game for 10 points.
Jim Tomlinson a n d Jim
"Leek" Hennessey backed up
Russell's performance with nine
points each.
Don Dickson of Listowel, who
had a three -for -six average on
foul shots, broke through South
Huron's defensive setup fort
three baskets to end up as high
scorer, with nine points for the
visitors.
Rosemary Dobson's nine field
goals and five baskets on foul
shots paced the senior girls to
a 55.29 victory in Listowel for
the most decisive win of the
four games played,
`Julia Gulens with 16 and Ken-
Lynn Shaw who moved the score-
board for another 13 digits were
the other top scorers in the
game.
Foul shot shooting • was parti-
cularly good in this game as.
Listowel dropped the ball through
the hoop 11 out of 18 tries
while South Hu3ron_had a 9 -for -
14 average.
In 'the boys' senior game at
home, Listowel gave the local
squad a rein' for the money as
the shooting on the South Huron
side was very erratic. '
The local seniors managed to
sink only 10 foul shots of. the
26 awarded to them by the re-
ferees.
Bill Lavender, captain of the
club, `led his team in scoring
with 17 points. A number of
these came off shots rebounding
from the backboard as he jump-
ed high and batted them into
the hoop with one hand, -
Hard -driving 'Barry Glover
and Bill Pollen played a strong
part in 'the 46-37 victory.
Glover's 13 points and Pollen,
,although with only six, 'came
through in the final quarter to
sew up . the win,
Charley Gidley of the visiting
Listowel team was ,the bad man
around the scoring zine as far
as Exeter was concerned as the
lanky student potted five bas-
kets and sank all four of his
foul. shots for a 14 -point day to
lead his team in a losing cause.
