Kennedy of the Grand Bend
girls and selections on the guitar

Scott of the Greenway C.G.I.T,
After games and refreshments

Couple Wed
45 Years
Mr, and Mrs. George Lawson
on Thursday celebrated their
forty-fifth wedding anniversary
by entertaining relatives and
friends to a turkey dinner at
Armstrong's Restaurant and an
evening of cards at their home.
They were married in 1912
in Crediton by the late Rev.
Robert Hicks and farmed in
Saskatchewan for 13 years, In
Atigust 1925 they moved to Exe-
ter where Mt. Lawson joined
the Bell Telephone and was man-
ager until he retired in 1946.
Their three children were
all born in Saskatchewan:
(Olive) Mrs. Garnet Hicks, Us-
borne. TownShip; y Orval, who
lost his life in the Mediterran-
ean in 1944; and 'Gerald in Exe-
ter, They have five grandchild-
ren.
The happy couple received
many cards and gifts. JANUARY

uid. Add beaten egg and all
other ingredients, Bake in loaf

.She was the former Ida Weber,
of Dashwood, Following her Mar-
riage to Samuel Beaver, they
farmed in Stephen. Township, and
later moved to a farm on High-
way No, 4, north of Exeter, now
occupied by her son, Ham
Beaver, Mr- Beaver died there
in 1921,.

Molded salads are attractive
and they can be made Ahead of I
time and kept in the refrigerator
until used. They can be used as
part of a dinner menu or, one
like the pineapple and cream
cheese salad we have for you,
will take top billieg at a lunch-
eon.
Pineapple And Cream Cheese
Salad
(Mrs. Harry /CO le)
1 cup pineapple juice
1 envelope getlatin
1 no. 2 can crushed pineapple
5 tsps. lemon juice
3 Tbsps, sugar
'J 1 pkg. cream cheese
1/2 tsp. grated lemon rind
dash of salt
1 cup dates quartered
1/2 cup broken nutmeats
Soften gelatin in ih cup pine-
apple juice. Dissolve over hot
water: Mix gelatin with remain-
ing pineapple juice. Add crush-
ed pineapple, lemon juice and
sugar.
Arrange a few pieces of dap
and maraschino cherry halves
in bottom of a quart mold. Cover
with 1 cup of pineapple mixture.
Chill until set. .
Blend lemon rind, Salt and
cream cheese and add to re-
maining pineapple mixture with
nuts and dates. 'Pour over top
of chilled pineapple mixture and
let stand in frig until set, Serve
on crisp lettuce with Your fav-
orite dressing.

This molded' cabbage salad
contains a combination of vege-
tables which can be varied to
suit your taste. Almost' any fla-
vored.jello powder may be used
as the base but lime, lemon or
orange would be preferred.
Molded Cabbage, Salad

1 pkg. jello
1i cups hot water
Combine and stir Until jello
is dissolved. Let stand until it
starts to set.
Mix: 1/2 cup sugar
1 cup, Miracle, Whip salad
dressing
Dash of salt
Combine sugar and salad
dressing with jello - and

til it zeal foamy. Stir le 1
cup finely shredded cabbage, a
little onion, red or green pep-
pers, sliced stuffed olives, and
grated carrot, using at much as
suits your taste. Onion is nec-
essary but use it sparingly,
When alt is mixed well, pour
into mould or salad bowl and
put in refrigerator until set.
